Yeah, I told you guys back in December those 2 were the key to how far this team would go. Lard could never get into a rhythm due to fouling so much and Prohm not giving him much of a chance.
The chemistry issues in the locker room we kept hearing about were obviously because Lindell should have been starting once he was healthy. He put up 17 I think in his first game back against Big 12 competition, he should have been put back in the lineup immediately. You dont lose your starting job due to an injury.
Had both of them played an entire season this year and got the minutes and starts they deserved I think this team would have performed at a much higher level than 9-9. Talley should have gotten alot more minutes also.
CSP needs to start holding players accountable both ON and off the court is the last thing I have to say about how he handled Lard. There is no consistency on what he expects of players on the court vs off in their free time.
Good luck Cam, I enjoyed watching you the last 2 years and hope you find success wherever you land.
Were we watching the same games?
There were some good Lard games this season, but...
(1.) He still fouled himself out of many contests.
(2.) He was hurt for a few games in the middle of the Big 12 season.
The idea that he was manifestly, categorically better than Jacobson at all times is absurd.
I really do not think that Weiler-Babb, Shayok, and Haliburton should have been playing less. I could see a case for starting Wigginton over Horton-Tucker, but Prohm would usually pull THT for LW if the former was clearly not going to be on that night.
Wigginton played more minutes (477) in the Big 12 (compared to 461), even if he was not starting. I care more how many possessions they had, not if they started. If anything, you could argue Wigginton was in the game in more critical and endgame scenarios.
Last four games of the season...
LW = 22, 29, 29, 29 (average of 27.25)
THT = 35, 25, 22, 15 (average of 24.25)
The charge there was some gross mismanagement of the roster and playing time is absurd. Haliburton and the other "long" guys brought more to the table than Talley did. Shayok was first-team all-Big 12, and Nick/Tyrese were much better on offense and shooting than Talley. This sounds like an Iowa football sort of thing about their backup quarterback.
