They did the twin short stripes on the white helmets before right? Then last year they did away with stripes.

There is no white in the helmet or jersey and no cardinal or gold on the pants to tie them together. These look like mismatches from different sets, which indeed they are.

The individual elements might be fine here, but they just do not work together.

It'd benefit from a tie-in color on the pants in some way. Alternative is to have a helmet and jersey with white accents, but that probably isn't worth it as long as C-C-W happens only once per season. Plain-white pants work fine with W-C-W, all-white and C-W-W, and WWW is bound to occur multiple times.

This was probably already posted, and while I am never going to like colored jersey numbers that do not match the color of the pants, just a little bit of color on the white pants...

...would go a long ways towards holding the whole look together if somebody insisted. I really love the "Orrnado" stripe on the basketball uniforms -- I wish we would do the same unique motif on the football uniforms. The current set is clean, but it is relatively bland.

Why do the replica jerseys fans can buy always look like garbage?

Numbers and lightning bolt on the sleeves on this years replicas are obnoxiously big

Say what you want about the Rhoads-era uniforms, but they mixed and matched well between different combinations. The current set is much weaker in that regard.

They were awful! Sorry Sig!

Alright, were going back to this...

ZB4CY does a service to the community by calling us to remember the near miss we had from that single week reveal+removal of the upside down poop emoji/bugle fail.

Like a wise Stoic, he reminds us to always temper our justified critique and desire for improvement, with gratitude for the bad that could have been, and has thus far been avoided:
It’s the Stoic premeditatio malorum—the premeditation of the evils and troubles that might lie ahead. It’s the exercise of imagining things that could go wrong or be taken away from us. It helps us prepare for life’s inevitable setbacks. We don’t always get what is rightfully ours, even if we’ve earned it. Not everything is as clean and straightforward as we think they may be. Psychologically, we must prepare ourselves for this to happen.

With that in mind, yes - we need some simple unifying stripes on pants at least, or matching socks as a substitute if not. Maybe the MBB "Orr" stripes would be too much across a pile of FB players, but something simple on the helmet and pants (no New Orleans Saints yoga pants!) can still look "clean".

I keep checking the Chinese sites to see if they have Purdy, Montgomery, or Butler up. I'm guessing with the numbers they aren't going to mess with it.

Lol I have been doing the exact same. My coworker got an LSU jersey customized through fanatics for name and number. Disappointing they don't have that available for Iowa State apparel.
