Does it help our case to have Game Day in Ames with Iowa since Texas will be featured next weekend (vs waiting until Texas comes to Ames later)?

Inconsequential.

If they come for the Iowa game, and if ISU and Texas are both undefeated by that point (a BIG if), they could come twice.

Never coming to Ames in 20 some years(could be more) and they would now come to Ames twice? Zero chance of that.
Like I said extremely unlikely but it all depends on tons of different factors. It would take a ton going our way but imagine Syracuse loses next week and we are both undefeated. It would be likely we would get it for the Iowa game. Now imagine we are undefeated and Texas is undefeated with the other games losing on their interest. They don’t like to repeat but I think they’d be hard pressed to pick something else in that scenario. The thing is the odds of that happening are near zero.

I have inside knowledge that if both teams are undefeated after week 2 CGD will be in Ames. I hope this stops the what ifs. it comes down to 1 thing. both undefeated. I cant reveal who it is so dont ask.

Getting excited! Iowa should dominate Rutgers

Are we even going to be ranked by then??
Very good question. I know Iowa dropped from 22 to out of the top 25 after their scare with uni a few years ago. Looked at Wisconsin’s ranking after their scare a few years ago and they only dropped from 12 to 13.

To be fair, the AP's view of Wisconsin is much different than their view of Iowa State. But who knows.

I think that we probably played ourselves out of Gameday, but I don't for a second believe that ESPN ever had a guaranteed "if both are undefeated" stance.
You guys are clueless. Try being optimistic instead of pessimistic for once. Life is a lot more enjoyable
