Yes, comparing his situation and to that of Jesus. Sorry I find that to be a bit much. But of course since I responded to someone invoking religion it causes everyone who is also religious to get super offended even though I did nothing but praise Brock outside of critique one part of what he said. Grow thicker skin and don’t try to insult my intelligence bc I have an opinion you don’t agree with.
Comparing situations is completely different than comparing yourself to another person, or in this case Jesus. That was the point. Me stating comprehension must be difficult for you wasn't stating you were dumb, it is a measurable that is in fact tested in tests like the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. So you can have poor reading comprehension and still be quite intelligent. I'm an Aerospace Engineer, but I probably have the spelling skills of a 5 grader. Being a bad speller doesn't make me dumb, just as having bad reading comprehension doesn't make one dumb. I don't think it is I that needs to get thicker skin, I think it's you....

If god REALLY loved ISU he would smite the hawkeyes.
Your post - as many things do - made me think of a brilliant Gary Larson The Far Side creation...

Your condescension is stunning. You managed to come off even more condescending in your explanation of how you weren’t insulting my intelligence. You manage to slide in your impressive profession as part of a laughable attempt at humility and you still stand by your diagnosis of a reading comprehension problem being to blame for my post while mansplaining that it is measurable in elementary school standard testing... and apparently by reading one post on the internet. You really know nothing about me and certainly not enough to make an offensive diagnosis like that. And please spare me of any attempt to tell my why it isn’t offensive. It is. Maybe spend your time trying to understand why.

My opinion on what Brock said was not due to a lack of understanding or comprehension. It was merely a minor criticism of the last part of what he said. Tons of athletes do the same thing and I am not a fan it. I also knew I would be in the minority with my opinion. However, if you re-read my initial post (or finish reading it for the first time), you should notice that the majority of what I said is still praising Brock as a person and player and the part I didn’t like is not a big deal at all. I love the guy and am so happy he is leading our team.

This is my fault for sharing my opinion on the internet. The whole thing is a cesspool where you can’t have a real conversation which includes disagreement without an immediate personal insult.
