Issue being that letting those types of opportunities slip has been a normal occurrence.
We are like 95th in the country in 3rd down defense. Horrible.

3rd down defense is horrible yet again. And like always we give up points before the half.
Offense keeps allowing sacks and getting penalties in opposing territory.
Still a lot to work on. Breece was about the only bright spot in the first half.

Staff needs to make some adjustments to whatever it is Jack Allen is doing to the Cyclone D. He is 10/12 for 107 yds. We're in big trouble if that trend keeps up in the 2nd half.
Heacock isn't bring pressure on them. We are almost always dropping back on 3rd, and the QB has all day to pick us apart. It happens over an over
This passivity and laziness is consistent with our performance on third down defense, so no surprise. I love all the reasons given for taking knees at the end of the half.......

defensive backs bad, wr bad. Purdy bad - not checking down, throwing into coverage, bad read option decisions, no scrambles. No Mitchell. very bad half.
games like this make me realize the OU game will be a “rake your lawn” Saturday.
Uh, yeah. That's exactly what I was saying. They aren't rushing the passer because they are choosing to drop a bunch of people back, and the idea is that you're fine giving up 5, 6, 7, even 10 yards because they have to get 15. But then they completely fail at keeping the play in front of them, and given enough time the opposing quarterback seems to always be able to beat them, no matter who it is. So whatever player or technique or something they need in order to not completely fail at not breaking every time, they clearly don't have it, and can't continue to drop back 8 and rush 3 on 3rd and long and expect to stop anyone. I don't anticipate the coaches altering their approach here, because you're supposed to believe your team can succeed, but I think we've all seen enough.
Tom Manning is a terrible coach, calls the same plays over and over. just let Brock run the show
