In order to get 20 wins, we need to win out December (beat Iowa and Seton Hall) and get 11 wins in the B12 (not including the B12 Tourney)

I’ve been drinkin whiskey for hours and even I know we’re not winning 11 conference games.

So many encouraging things the last 3 days. We were competitive against 3 good teams. Bolton and Nixon played really well which we need going forward. Tyrese was awesome. Tre showed he can help.

The problem is if you don’t start winning these games, it doesn’t matter if there were positives to take from the game.

We already have 3 losses. None of them are bad losses but you have to be careful racking up so many non-conference losses that it puts you in a deep hole going into Big 12 play. We still have Seton Hall, Iowa and @ Auburn. I don’t think we can afford to lose 2 or more non-conference games. If we finish out 5-1 that puts your non-conference record at 9-4. 9-9 league record means you only go 18-13.

In the end I thought that the team did a good job of fighting to the end, and there were a couple guys that stepped up their offense. Big guys had a really bad game over all. George did some nice things, but also had some defensive lapses. Young and Jacobson were just not quick enough for this team.

Take the loss to a good team and build off of it. Get the next time in Hilton!

It’s the magic number for the tourney. We could make it with 19, but that would be really difficult. There are 21-22 win P5 teams that don’t make it, so I’m not exactly thrilled.
It mostly depends on who we beat. Last year teams like NC State and Clemson missed out because they didn't beat anyone good and in NC State's case they played a bottom 5 non conference schedule. Right now we don't really have any big wins but luckily we still have Auburn, Seton Hall again, and all of conference play. As long as we don't take any dumb losses along the way we should be good if we cross 20 wins.

Given our schedule this year, there’s probably ways we can make it with 16 wins. Idk why everyone seems to think they still select the field like they did 15 years ago for some reason.

You really think we will make the tournament at 16-15? I think the lowest we can be with our schedule is 18-13 or 19-12. We need to beat Iowa and Seton Hall at home and then go 9-9 in the conference. Should be enough.

these predictions are kind of pointless. if we play well, we will be in for some close finishes. there are no bad teams in our league, and if we aren't a good shooting team, Hilton won't help us.

and if our D doesn't get better, every game we struggle shooting we're gonna lose.

I’m sure I’ll get attacked for this but here goes...this team may not win 20 games, they may not win 17, they may not make the NCAA tournament BUT....so far I have enjoyed watching this team more than last year! They certainly have things to improve (it’s only November) but they play way more together and have laid it all on the line - to this fan, that is fun to watch!! Go Cyclones!!!

We’d be a 10 seed with this result assuming the B12 is decently strong this year. I’ll sign up for that right now.

Why? There’s tons of opportunities for many quad one wins with our schedule.

Maybe playing these tough teams will make the team better prepared to deal with the Big12 gauntlet too. Don't forget the Big 12 tourney can add to our win total. We may need to get a couple of wins in that tourney to make the Big Dance this season.

They were, but it was pretty clear that they weren't going to get picked with that record once we saw that Belmont got in over them.
Their resume also wasn’t as strong as Iowa States would probably be with this years schedule. We have one of the toughest non conference schedule and play the toughest conference schedule.
