Theirs is the strength of their team and ours is a weakness.
Our OL keeps improving and the guys play their asses off. Love our guys, but they are not a great unit.
At first I thought that too but they are doing what we aren't and that's winning in the margins. They are basically us, with a better defense but make those margin plays.
I wonder if just about every game was like that.
Some of these 'detail' things start in August. Perhaps next fall camp sees more emphasis on it.

Yay next year guys. Did you hear that?!?!?! How about we actually do something huge like have a 10-win season (I think we are the only P5 team to never have one) instead of, "But just wait until next year." Yeah eventually it will probably happen, but Cubs' fans wait over 100 years. Some fans never got to see that "next year" actually happen.
Not directed at you as I'm not sure you said anything negative. But, the majority of thre people in this thread suggesting X coach didn't do their best job are not being, let's say, very constructive in their criticism. I think that is what draws the ire of many who apprciate them being here after DECADES of MUCH worse. Yes, we want them to improve, but lay off the namecalling and the demands for firing for goodness sakes.
I agree with the cup cake process at KSU. It’s what they do in b-ball and football.
If you question coaching decisions at all you are a bad fan or don’t appreciate the effort by the team. Nonsense.
It’s not about being a good year, it clearly has been. It is frustrating to go decades with disappointment and then watch a good team give it up like that... we will all be fine in the morning and I’m going to assume that ISU will crush it’s bowl opponent...
Am I misremembering OR wasn't KSt the team that we beat sometimes when we won more than one conference game back then? I don't remember being this dominant over us in the 70's and 80's.
But that culture is ONLY 30 years old. It should be gone by the 12th game of the season, shouldn't it?
BU, KSU, and OkSU passed ISU by this season. That's not a good look for a 4th year program.
It seems rather clear that there are coaching deficiencies on the offensive side of the ball, just as there were last year. They weren't addressed during the past off-season and ISU paid for it this year. Football is about scoring points. If you can't score, you can't win.

I'm not sure they showed more effort. I thought we tried hard, but things didn't go our way much of the game and maybe they started pressing (which is not good in general.)
I do think K State did a better job of playing their game and we got Kstated. This how Kst wins every game they win.
Huge difference with your team out east thing. They have disappointed but have sprinkled in a couple of Orange Bowls in the last 20 years, as well as a Rose Bowl and I think 5 double-digit win seasons.
Campell (and O coordinator) has not figured out how to beat Iowa/KSU type of team.
