Purdy just said on the locker room show that the players need to hold each other more accountable during the week and during the whole season.

I just got a feeling when he said it that the JGJ thing was a lot bigger distraction for the team than we think it was. He wasn't "injured".

Good for Purdy for talking to the media.

To be fair, there’s not a whole lot you can say after getting your sh*t handed to you on national TV in a bowl game.

Let's not go down this road. The Iowa team I saw last night would have beaten the ND team I saw today. Don't try to make yourself feel better right now by putting down Iowa. Not a good look.

I agree. Iowa looked good last night and beat a decent-ish PAC-12 team in enemy territory. Can’t put fault on them when we’re the ones who got embarrassed.

It was just to Eric Heft in the post game locker room show on the radio, but yes, kudos to him for speaking with Eric. Purdy also said it's time to look forward and start working on getting better for next year.

Pettway said that "Iowa State beat Iowa State today".

He definitely isn't wrong on that. But ND's brand new OC with no experience was also a LOT better than Manning too.

It's not as if they held open tryouts for OC in the days before the game. He WAS the QB coach so guessing he had SOME knowledge of the offense.

Doesn't it always feel like we make this game way too hard when watching us play?

A lot of football is just executing really simple stuff, but we always have to make it so difficult. 4th and inches is just one of them. Getting inside the 5 or 10 yd line and always getting false start penalties. Taking sacks instead of throwing the ball away. Etc, etc, etc. We're just always making things so much more difficult on ourselves time and time again..... and never seem to learn from it either.

Deshaunte Jones on the locker room show was REALLY good. Such a great person. Very well spoken guy. He will have a successful life no matter what he ends up doing IMO. Glad he was a Cyclone. He said he did everything he could for ISU.

Maybe it's just a personnel thing.

ISU looked small and slow today so being out position on D, not holding on to the ball and scrambling all day on O makes it worse.
