That's really the only difference. And again - very few people are actually tweeting *at* players and coaches. I'm sure there are extreme examples that are out of bounds, and I would hope players and coaches have the wisdom to realize those are the stupid few.

But it's silly to think that criticism isn't going to come their way after the last month.

You expect 18 year old kids to have wisdom yet grown "men" are tweeting hateful garbage at them.

These kids are living in a fish bowl and there are swaths of our "fan" base who act like the fat stupid kid who keeps tapping the glass.

I’m betting he found tweets about how the cyclones stink and found tweets about how prohm should be fired.

If you want to play P5 D1 and lose to the worst teams you’re going to have to deal with that regardless of what team you play for.

And then our fans are going to have to realize we are no better and in some ways worse than every fan base.

Just because they might not @ the player or coach, doesn’t mean it won’t find its way to the players eyes. Maybe try getting a little more familiar with twitter.

And Facebook comments obviously players aren’t getting tagged it but certainly talked about.

Pretty sure these guys hate losing and are trying to fix this thing. These kids aren’t here for the fans either. What’s happening with fans and players in Hilton or on social media is making this worse.
I understand that people feel that way. However, people everywhere feel the heat if they don't do well at their job. Go read reviews on things. People complain. People are able to speak their mind. I agree that players shouldn't have to hear it, but their performance on the court reflects the leadership they have. Prohm deserves to be criticized. The man is being paid 2+ million a year at a school that has been historically known as a basketball school.

I guess not anymore. Back when I played we got called alot worse than this everytime we screwed something up and I guarantee we wouldnt have heard the last of it if we didnt do what the coach instructed with the game on the line.

We would also realize at the end of the game when we personally made a boneheaded play and would use that as motivation to not let it happen again.

So you've changed your perspective since last night?

And you had a (high school?) coach call you idiots? I mean, I had coaches that used pretty negative tactics to get into players, and generally created toxic situations and burn out as the season wore on.

Best coaches I had didn't live in a world of praise and rainbows, but knew the difference between being critical and bullying someone.

And, isn't that a form of head games, while you're, with no evidence, accusing CSP of playing head games with players (which sounds just bat****crazy, by the way)?

Is $2 million really that high for a traditional basketball school.

Youre a division 1 athlete. People are going to tweet about your team and about your coach. If you don’t like that go play for Coe. That’s the same thing with every p5 division 1 player.

No, but the dude is living in Iowa. It's not like he has a lot to worry about in his life making that much.

I haven’t seen anyone tweet anything hateful at any of our players, and if there were, those people are scum. However, you can’t expect fans to be posting nothing but positivity, especially with how this season is going, but tweeting anything negative at coaches and players is something that people shouldn’t ever do, especially at the collegiate level.

There were people who didn’t think this beforehand?

@CyDude16 good to know you disagree that fans shouldn’t @ coaches and players to tell them you think they suck. You must be guilty of doing so.

I’m disagreeing with the fact you haven’t seen it. It’s there.

Clearly I don’t disagree with the fact that fans shouldn’t @ players and coaches, that’s been my whole schtick on thread, imbecile.

Of course. But what do you think it accomplishes?

I'm assuming by your defensiveness on this, you do it. Why do you think throwing a fit on CF on January 1st is a good thing?
