PB on one slice, jelly on the other.

I usually overdo it on the jelly. Tastes great, and gives me more jelly in my belly.

Don't even get her started. This is a woman who can't stand it if two items on her plate are touching. You're opening up an enormous can of psychological worms, here. @Angie

Just because I think casseroles are hot garbage, don't make me into a nutcase.

It all depends on how long it will be before you eat it. If I'm making it to eat right away, I put PB on one slice, and J on the other. If I'm packing a lunch to eat later, I PB both slices and J in the middle. The PB helps seal the bread so the J doesn't make it as soggy. Same reason you don't mayo directly onto the bread if you wont be eating right away. Mayo between slices of meat and cheese.
This is the correct answer. If eating it right away you do jelly first, clean the knife and do PB. Jelly cleans up easier on the knife. Plus you can lick the PB knife when you have completed the assembly.

Also, these preserves from Costco are great.

PB goes on one piece.
Then you wipe the knife off on the other piece, so you don't get any in the J jar. Then J goes on the other piece.

With a normal PB&J, yes.

3 slices of bread.

Peanut butter on 2. Potato chips on those. Jelly on 3rd slice. Put jelly slice in between PB slices

I was totally behind you on this since this is how I make my PB&J, but then you had to add chips into it.

I haven't had anything besides grape jelly in a LONG time. And as a person who formerly wore braces, it's always smooth/creamy PB. Tiny bits of nuts in your braces or permanent retainer is no fun.

Peanut butter on both slices of untoasted white bread. Forget the jelly, I have moved on to a nice layer of chocolate chips or both halves of a Hershey bar in the middle.

PB on one slice of TOAST then jelly on the same slice. Scoop up as much pb as you can fit on the knife and then lick the knife clean. Place the other slice of toast on the first and then dip your sandwich in hot chocolate.

My wife does sweet orange marmalade and butter on toasted english muffin halves. I used to think it would be disgusting, but it's actually pretty good.

As far as old-school PB&J, chunky peanut butter on one side, grape or raspberry preserves on the other side.
