I’m not going to look it up, but I’m assuming those coaches he idolized coached at other schools before staying at their first P5 school. They didn’t just land those jobs out of thin air.

Like them, he turned around a P5 school, built something, and will sustain it.
That he idolizes coaches who built up their own P5 program and stuck with them? I’m not wrong.
Yeah, you are. The P5 part.

He idolizes his old coach at Mount Union, Larry Kehres. D-III.

Also deeply respects John Stiegelmeier, who has been at South Dakota State for 23 seasons—FCS.

Snyder was the only P5 coach I’ve heard him mention in those terms.

The point being, they all found a place they were comfortable with, and built something special from the bare bones—and chose to stay there, rather than going to something bigger or more lucrative. Building a legacy.

My impression is he’s comfortable in Ames. Seems to be doing the latter part as well.

For some reason we lose our best coaches (Cael Kindler Fred etc).

The concern is his ego gets in the way

This weeks tweet is an example:

Our last 15 years we’ve accomplished so much....

Is it about him or CMC?
Cael was delivered a Brinks truck from PSU and Fred wanted to coach in the NBA. I don't think Jamie could really do anything about either. I have no knowledge of the gymnastics situation (had to Google Kindler).

For ***** sake, I think it’s about the fans.

LOL at the Jets trying to borrow some of the shine off of Campbell to help give their coaching search some credibility in the press. Sad.

Well it was a distraction from the basketball game today, so maybe Campbell is doing prohm a solid.

Or....the basketball team was so concerned about Campbell leaving that they couldn't focus on the game. Better give Prohm an extension because it isn't fair he had to coach through this.

Exactly.

We have seen this several times now with CMC. I think the local press for an Auburn or NY Jets just puts **** out there. They get hits for a few days worst case, maybe force a presser and maybe get a quote or mistake out of it.

They have nothing else to do.

CMC has repeatedly said let his actions speak for themselves. I see nothing in his actions that indicate he is leaving or even considering it. I would bet good money the returning seniors asked him and he told them "your ass is mine for one more season".

Your first paragraph is exactly what goes through the minds of media outlet leadership. What can get clicks regardless of whether or not it is factual? It drives site activity, clicks, etc. and the media companies can use that data to sell ad space to affiliates.
