What would you think if you interviewed for a job and found out the management had kept your predecessor around to make the mess you’re being hired to clean up worse than it had to be? I’d see that as a negative. I’d rather see a commitment to success.
I mean, seriously, no coach is going into a job thinking "hey, at least they'll keep me when I'm losing 20 games."
Nobody wants to have that loser attitude as a coach or in their coach.
Coaches understand that there's no grace extended for destroying their program.
