What would you think if you interviewed for a job and found out the management had kept your predecessor around to make the mess you’re being hired to clean up worse than it had to be? I’d see that as a negative. I’d rather see a commitment to success.

I mean, seriously, no coach is going into a job thinking "hey, at least they'll keep me when I'm losing 20 games."
Nobody wants to have that loser attitude as a coach or in their coach.
Coaches understand that there's no grace extended for destroying their program.

How is it different than letting Rhoads go during the season?

Oh come on. Look at the timing. Rhoads was fired in November with one game left. We still have what, ten + games left and over a full month on the calendar. It's not the same in any way besides being 'in season'. Again, convince me how firing him now benefits us. If he gets fired now, so be it. I just don't see it happening in any way.

You’re obviously not a coach. There’s nothing to be gained from firing him now. Nothing. I guarantee coaches would not think it was good of them to do. Jamie will lock up TJ in March.

I am not saying it was the right thing to do. I also don't think it should or will happen....but coaches do get fired during the season and Pollard has done it.

What is to be gained is killing the narrative and just getting it over with. What's the point of letting the fanbase scream from the rooftops for another two months if this thing is such a done deal. It's almost a mercy thing at this point.

Lots of people get fired for not doing their job. If I don't do mine I should be fired as well.
And the pandemic excuse doesn't hold. The other team tonight and all the other teams this year are also in the same pandemic.

Pull the trigger now = more time on the market to research and find the best next man in that we can.
Pull the trigger now or watch how many season ticket holder just don't care to renew and drive your budget down even further for who knows how long.
Pull the trigger now to give a ray of hope or a guarantee of change to your fan base and donors.

Keep him = see how deep we can dig a hole.

Not in coaching you don’t.

More like a month. March 11 at the latest, possibly earlier if there's no big 12 tournament.

There's no real benefit to firing him with a month left. Just run out the season and pull the trigger the next morning.

Its been 6 ******* years not 2.

What?

I’m not saying he shouldn’t get fired. I’m saying there’s no point in firing him now. It’s not going to help us get a coach. In fact it would turn off coaches. I suppose TJ wouldn’t care though.

To the people who say give him another year, ******* why? So he can games by 50 instead of 40?

I'm not in the give him another year camp, but the only reason i could even kind of understand would be 'save money on the buyout'
