And it'd be ignorant to think our players don't know what's happening.Yeah, it’s already in motion, and judging by his demeanor, Steve is aware of what’s going on as well.

I don't think TJ or Devries would be a crap shoot.
What makes you think TJ would be a good hire? I have seen nothing from him that makes me think he would be any better than Prohm. UNLV is looking worse year 1 to year 2. Very Prohm-esque.
I think the thing I’m most worried about is a scenario where we keep him for another year because of covid , and then next year we show some mild improvement with nothing real to show for it like a tournament appearance. I could see the powers that be give him yet another rebuilding year while we continue to see our brand diminish. It would be that much harder to get a quality coach to turn things around.

TJ knows what it takes to win at Iowa State. His teams would also have an identity, which has honestly been Prohms biggest downfall. TJ is a solid offensive mind and he would make Cyclones hoops exciting to watch.Yeah I'm with you here.
I haven't seen a damn thing from TJ that makes me go, "Oh, yes. Him!"
Outside of the connection he has with being an assistant and having a wife thats been within the program.. I don't see it.
I'd choose DeVries over TJ 100/100 based off of what they've done @ their head coaching positions.
Personally, I still think we need a proven P5 coach and not go the mid-major route.
I am amazed at the continual TJ hype on the board. He took a stacked SDSU program and did fine.
SDSU Basketball W/L
Now, he has UNLV about where he inherited the program
UNLV Basketball W/L
Now let's check Drake. Drake? Drake.
Drake Basketball W/L
I'll gladly take DeVries thank you.
I was having a conversation with someone about this the other day. What would it take to restore faith in him? Personally, it would have to be at least a 2 year sustained run with us being in the top half of the Big 12 and in the NCAA tournament. I'm not up for showing marginal improvement and pretending we can forget about 3 out of the last 4 years.

Only one game, but watching the thumping UNLV took from Nevada last night, I worry about TJ as well. Yes, he can recruit, but we've down that road.

TJ walked into a successful program with a generational player. He should have won there.
we aren’t going to get to see whether or not he can get unlv going since he will have left there after his second year.
he will get all kinds of goodwill from the fans though, and that will buy him at least 3 years before anyone starts questioning anything he does.
Agree. I think Pollard will have a tough time selling the fanbase on a new head coach coming off a losing season in a weak Mountain West Conference. What makes you think TJ would be a good hire? That's comically dumb.
TJ may or may not be great, but they aren't trending towards a 2 win season.
Prohm is his own category of legendarily bad coaching here. Nobody compares to what he's done.
That's subjective.
UNLV is 114th in Offensive Efficiency per KenPom. 74th last year.
His recruiting rankings aren't terrible, but its much easier to recruit a kid to Vegas than it is Ames, IA.
I just don't see the X's and O's that get me excited.
