Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

Even during a worldwide pandemic?

This is the x-factor that I think everyone is leaving out of the discussion. I think that CSP is cooked, but like I've said before, I wouldn't be shocked if he was back. Concerned and disappointed, yes.

I don’t think Jamie can afford to bring him back.

hopefully the donors are going to write that check to pay his buyout. And then write even more checks to cover shortfalls, and give the new coach whatever he feels he needs to turn the program around.

the good news is they already know tj, so there doesn’t need to be an introductory period

It will be interesting to see how students show up, either way really. Historically tend to show up when we are good and for big games especially, but this group of students hasn't had tons of good.....BUT, maybe post pandemic events students missed out on will get a slight bump.

If Prohm is back, truly will be interesting to see the "fans voting with their feet" outcome.

You can be certain of one thing. If Prohm is back, this site will be front and center in the season long revolt regardless of how it unfolds. Because 10 wins won't be enough....and 20 will be underachieving.

Prohm is a goner. Just heard through a well connected guy that he will be gone at the end of the season. Which is the exact opposite of what he said last week. Apparently things have changed. Hope we can get a good new coach

I’d consider the idea that people don’t tell you the truth because you run to message boards and say what what you’ve heard. I certainly wouldn’t tell you any important info.

I can guarantee that nothing changed from early this week when you claimed someone told you there was no money snd today when you claim there’s money. Either the person you are talking to is telling you whatever they want or you’re making it all up.

Well if your "well connected" guy knows for a %100 certainty that Prohm is gone..........then he must also know of who is the replacement. If he doesn't maybe he isn't as "well connected" as you think. Because you don't go half cocked out of the side of your mouth before the season is over while at the same time thinking....."gee I hope we can find someone". If that is how JP is operating then maybe he needs to go with Prohm.

Covid is a factor and has been acknowledged but I think ISU is the only P6 team without a conference win so that's more of an ISU problem.

I agree with you, but CF posters aren't going to be the one or one's who ultimately make the decision.

No fans, no traditional on campus learning/living, world still a little upside down, a lot upside down during the preseason, no NCAA tournament last year, weird asterisk tournament scheduled this year, etc.

You have to realize that this site contains a tiny fraction of ISU fans, right?

I’m sure he has a shortlist and a strong idea of who he will hire. But you can’t possibly be arguing that at the point they decide they need to make a coaching change, every AD knows with 100% certainty who they are going to hire?

one great thing about my life is I don’t care if people believe me or not. I also never mention names of people who tell
Me stuff. So no reason anyone would not tell me the truth in a normal conversation

exactly. To think that the replacement is already in the bag would be foolish.

You have ten adults waiting for dinner and one baby. Who do you think makes the most noise?

Your analogy only works if you believe that Pollard was one of the adults waiting for dinner.

He cares about dollars. Dollars come from TV contracts which mainly come from football. He should and does put football above everything else.

He is one of the adults. Which is why I wouldn't be surprised if Prohm is back. My original post of being front and center in the revolt if that were to occur is addressed to this site only.

I will say that I am for the most part, a big fan of JP’s. He has always had that scrappy attitude and was ready to stand up for ISU when we needed him. However, he absolutely panicked in 2019 and got us deeper into this mess. If Prohm stays another year, and it’s strictly a financial decision, JP’s pay should be cut to help make up for the difference. The decision to extend Prohm was a absolute blunder.

If JP decides to be cheap, and doesn’t own up to his obvious mistake, I think my opinion of him will be forever changed.
