I do remember that. I was still technically a hok at that time, but I for all intents and purposes knew I'd be going to Iowa State, so I was cheering for them in that tournament.

Kelvin Cato had his national coming out game that day. I think he had 27 points and a bunch of rebounds, not to mention countless blocked and adjusted shots.

I remember we were a popular pick to be upset in the 11 over 6 matchup that year. We had stumbled a bit to the finish line in the regular season and got absolutely hammered by a really good Kansas team in the Big 12 tournament.

I wonder if that will put Mike White on the hot seat down there. I remember not being all that impressed with his hiring (don't think he had ever taken Louisiana Tech to the NCAA's), and while he hasn't been a total flop down there I don't think he's done much to fill the rather sizeable shoes of Billy Donovan.

it'd be ridiculous if he is on the hot seat. He's had 4 straight tournament appearances.

Question for whoever has the ncaa facts on here.

CBS said that at least one of every seed except for 16 had won. Does that happen much?

Yeah, I looked him up after I wrote that, and his record isn't quite as mediocre as I thought it was.

I think it would be ridiculous for him to be in real trouble as well, but in a way they blew that game almost as bad as Rutgers blew their own game.

I was in my first year at work and I brought my little TV into work to watch it and my boss told me to turn it off. I left the company 4 months later.

Got to write I've been really impressed with Villanova so far. I thought they might lose to Winthrop in the first round and then I thought that a good North Texas team could give them a lot of trouble in the second. Obviously I've been wrong about them so far.
