I think the fact the Jacobson interviewed at Minnesota would be reason to question whether you wanted to stay. I would guess that AJ would have been asked to follow to Minnesota, but when your coach is looking why shouldn't the player.
I’m guessing that Ben was “interviewed” only because the coach Minnesota hired was an assistant at UNI under Jacobson.

I’m probably way off base but if I was coaching one of my daughters at UNI there is no way I’d be leaving to take a similar job at ISU. I realize the money is probably drastically different, but not in a life-changing way. Kyle Green is pretty well thought of, he can recoup his financial losses easily in the future. This is a clumsy way of saying I highly doubt Kyle Green is at ISU and AJ is at UNI this coming season.

It's more likely that Emerson transfers to Iowa State than AJ if Kyle moves. Emerson can certainly play in the Big 12 and the women's program won't be in full rebuild, obviously.

I didn't say it. Justin Hamilton did. My problem with Robinson is he recruits guys from Chicago like THT that don't give a crap about ISU or playing team basketball. That's not going to work here.
Really like how you speak well of others.

Aside from that, people can make mistakes if what you say is true. People can also change. Not saying I fully believe what you are saying, always two sides.

If TJ wants him as an assistant coach, why do you feel the need to enlighten us with questionable past events that might be best left alone? I don't mind you making the point or statement, but then you keep arguing it. Why? I don't understand the negative vibe.

You have some good opinions and posts. You also have some posts that just drive the negative. Let those go. You'll feel better. YMO.

Nope. Whatever you say or do in the past defines who you are permanently 100%. You should suffer irreparable damage to your career and private life.

Not to be redundant, but I don't get why the Register put out an article about Kyle Green being a 'leading candidate' for Otz's staff. Why wouldn't they wait until he actually accepts and is officially announced? Sorry, just being selfish because now I'll be disappointed if it falls through. Still think it's different than when a school throws out possible candidates for head coaching searches.

It is what is commonly referred to as “reporting.” The Register obviously has information that Otz is after Green. I appreciate the info.

Phyfe would get abused in conference play. It's not a personal knock on him, he's a nice MVC player and the kind that UNI have thrived with for years. That said, match him up against the type of bigs we see night in and night out he's going to struggle.

Not sure how well Phyfe would do in the big12, but he's a good high post passer, which is something else missed for several years.

aj/tyrese could split pg duties while the other runs the 2.

I've said this before, but AJ has to improve ball handling and cut down TO's to be a PG. He's really similar to Bolton, imo

ok, fine. Didn't see the article. Did they 'report' any or all of the other possible people he is 'after' to get on staff, too?

Im assuming they reported it because it’s likely to happen. Kind of like NFL free agency, two days before free agency starts. Sure it could fall through, but odds are it won’t.

Isn’t part of that due to the fact the general Cyclone fans don’t know TJ?

He’s not exactly the type that gets people excited, and all they’ll know is the brief press clippings that he was a former assistant that just had a sub .500 record at UNLV. JP alluded to not winning the press conference. At least his name isn’t John Smith

The first couple seasons are huge for an unknown. Prohm has made it impossible to not look better.
John Smith would be a homerun hire.

Whoops, wrong sport...

Is the fact that one or more new assistants haven't been officially announced yet more apt to be due to:

1. Otz is waiting for all 3 positions to get filled to announce them at same time
2. Green is not sure he wants to make the move
3. Otz is trying to get Pollard to commit to more $ to lure good assistants
4. None of the above

Sorry for my impatience, but after watching the women's heartbreaking loss last night, I'm craving good news today.

#3 should have been covered deeply in the interview...one would hope! But I agree...any of those are legit possibilities.

Id say the Green deal is done but the discussions are probably around AJ coming or not.
