Well there is no guarantee that seniors like Conditt, Johnson, or Kalscheur will automatically take their extra year, is there?

CW said Kalscheur wants to play two more years for certain.

Hinson, Johnson, Conditt, and Kunc (who has already graduated, I will remind gently) might want to say they've had enough and "go out as seniors" even if they could technically play for another year.

Hinson is probably the least likely to do that -- he's only played two years of college basketball so far and is a likely starter. Kunc has already graduated, but he's likely to play and seems to like TJ so who knows.

I won't guess with the other two, but it would be their fourth year playing this year. Maybe it's time to move on.

Didn't Enaruna came to KU in 2019 after spending most of the summer playing For The Dutch National team in the FIBU U18 tournament? He helped the Dutch advance to the Round of 16 by averaging 19.3 points in 33 minutes/game.

He was then stuck behind Moss, Agbaji, Garrett and Braun on the wing for the 2020 #1 team in the country.. His first full offseason in Lawrence was a COVID pandemic year that left him without much in-person instruction to get better. Plus he was again stuck behind some IMPRESSIVE talent on the wing with Agbaji, Garrett, Wilson and Braun.

No one is saying Enaruna is going to be a first team All Big 12 player this coming season.. But he has the potential to be an NBA prospect at only 19 years old today (He turns 20 in June)

His per 40 minutes stats for this last season are 12 points and 7 rebounds a game. Javon Johnson's per 40 minute stats this last season were 13 points and 6 rebounds for some perspective. Tyler Harris was 13 points.. Fun fact is Xavier Foster's per 40 min stats are 20 points and 9 rebounds.. That's first team all Big 12 (sarcasm, I think)

Every time I get excited about TJs recruiting (and it is exciting!) I remind myself that coach Prohm brought in back to back the best rated recruiting classes in Iowa State history and couldn't win with them. Not to derail the thread but I think the reason for that was that he was never able to get all of that talent to mesh which led to excessive roster turnover. I hope that TJ can get all of these guys on the same page and build a consistent program.

This class is 85% experienced transfers, all except Jones has P5 experience. Apples to Oranges.

2015 Prohm/Fred landed us Nick Noskowiak, Brady Earnst and Simeon Carter..

2021 Otz has blown the freakin doors off

Also, it's well versed that Prohm couldn't keep guys here. Many suspect that's because the classes were guys from the southeast and not the Midwest. I also credit the 2016-2018 recruiting classes up to Fred leaving the fridge fully stocked and Prohm riding their coattails

Actually, Tim Floyd's recruiting class with Marcus Fizer was either #1 or #2 in the nation at the time (1998). There were like 9 guys in it but still.

Not only is the just the simple net talent better, the pieces sure seem to fit way better in terms of roles, starting with having a highly ranked, albeit FR true PG. It is really hard to win without good PG play.

Obviously there's a lot of turnover, a new staff, and a young roster, but this will be more the norm across the sport. A lot of teams are faced with tons of turnover, so it's not as a big a disadvantage as it used to be.

I still think the tourney is very much a long shot, but what started out with several big "Ifs" that pretty much all had to happen to have a chance, now it's starting to trim those down with every new commitment TJ gets.

TJ is just hitting it out of the MFing park so far.
I agree. Even if TJ is not great with x's and o's, this team should win three-four times as many games just on the talent upgrades alone.

It was #1. And had C.J. Bruton and Gerald Henderson been allowed to play....look out. I'll more than take what LE did when adding Tinsley but.......wow, that class was a monster! Steve's classes, although good weren't that.

Personally, I’m more than a little lost on the font for the “Loyal Sons” in the football commitment graphics (I assume the SID is doing both).

Both then, maybe I’m just old and not hip enough.

o_O You and me both. Then again, maybe all new fball commits are 2-sport athletes and ready for some "LOYAL 2-ON-2".

I always find it amusing the school can't comment on an athlete by name until they sign, yet they can create a commitment graphic for the student to use on their own with the school logo, slogan, and a big ol' NIKE logo branded along the top.

Prohm is most likely the worst coach this program ever had. I don't remind myself of anything in regards to how he performed.
