Williams said this is the only guy the staff is currently going after on his Sunday night pod with Blum. Did I hear that correctly?

Izaiah Brockington - 6'4" SG (2021/22 Senior - Penn State): #2 guard for Penn State in the 2020/21 season, really picked up his play this last season. PRPG rating doubled this season. Good rebounder at the wing, great size for a 2 guard. Not a great 3 point shooter (28%). 84% free throw shooting may indicate he could be a better shooter. Kind of a twin too Kalscheur

Lefty. Love the intensity & authority around the rim. Shades of Burton/Kane. Would be a solid addition IMO.

I'd rather have dribbling passing and defense intensity to help set the culture rather than just getting a guy who hits 40% from 3 but nothing else well.

Agree. Being a threat from 3 is good to have, but we don't need a team full of "a bunch of shooters." We need creators/scorers, too (plus helps to have the pesky D).

(I know, a "shooter" can be a "scorer," but not all scorers are "shooters.")

I would like a 6'6 guard that shoots 45% from 3 and can play the 1-3, but unfortunately that player isn't available, and if they are then they're probably going to Gonzaga. Brockington would be a good addition to this roster.

I thought they also referred to a new name that was posted on the premium board?
No, they referred to the premium board to get all the details on Brockington. As stated, they mentioned his name in the podcast and suggested you get the premium subscription to get "the rest of the story".

Also they are looking at older guards...been reported that it was a mutual decision to transfer between Baker and Duquense, if they didnt want him back that could be a problem

We’re going nuts over a 6’7” kid who can dribble unguarded toward the basket and dunk?
Lol alright everyone make sure you check with this curmudgeon if your excitement is legit enough to post on his presence.

I like Baker's game. According to Chris' comments. The staff is targeting an off guard now. Baker is the same position as Jaz, Hinson, Johnson and Enaruna.

Which is what exactly? the '3' position, or the '4'?

I’ve not seen him play, but 6’7” Ryan Hawkins from NW MO State who averaged 22.7/7.4 along with 2.1 steals and 0.8 blocks is in the portal, and is an ISU fan from Atlantic. Listed as a power forward.

Any way he is in play, or did we stock up on enough height and only looking for a guard at this point?

I’d say we’re looking for a guard or a home run at any position.

He might be a great walk on candidate. We don’t get any other players , throw him on scholarship for a year. Seems like he would love to play for the Clones even as a walkon

I trust 2 of those guys to play the off guard.. Which can be 1-3 in a traditional lineup. Baker's group is primarily the 3-4 spots. Which we have 4 guys that all seem decent to good at those spots. Guard need > wing/stretch need... However, I want best available player
