Whether Aaron is right, wrong or indifferent right now, that is completely up for debate. However, to say that Rogers isn't at least a bit of a difficult person to get along with in general would definitely go against what we've seen so far in his life. Yes, the guy does have a few teammates and former teammates he remains close with, so clearly he does get along with a few people out there. However, when you have beefs with and are estranged from pretty much your entire family, your alma mater (Cal), many former teammates, and now your current team, you are starting to paint a bit of a picture of yourself.

If the Packers thought he still had the 2020 version of Aaron Rodgers in him, they never would have drafted Love in the first place. Keep that in mind. They weren't speaking that way to Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, they were speaking that way to mediocre quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

If Aaron Rodgers was competing for MVP's and then the Packers used a first round pick to draft his replacement, I can see him being pissed. But in 2019 Aaron Rodgers ranked 20th in QBR, 12th in Qb rating, and 16th in yard per completion. In 2018 he was 17th in QBR, 13th in QB rating, and 12th in yards per completion. For reference, in 2020 he was 1st in QBR, 1st in rating, and 8th in yards per completion.

No doubt Rodgers had a great 2020.... he also had a really easy schedule of teams to carve up. That didn't hurt.
If you look at Aaron's stats against teams that are good to excellent, Aaron's stats drop way off. To be fair, that happens with other really good Qb's too.
I don't know what GB schedule is for 2021, but if they have some tougher teams on it, don't expect Rodgers to be MVP caliber... Likely it will go back to 2017 levels.

Aaron definitely wants out of GB, no question. Aaron is blaming the front office for this (see Jordan Love draft pick) and that was it for him.

I think Aaron's best chance of him getting out, sooner than later, is to show up to camp. He will be a HUGE distraction all season if GB keeps him on for 2021. At some point the front office will see the light and trade him to be rid of the drama.

Minus the Multiple championships, Rogers is a lot like Michael Jordan. Absolutely one of the best to ever do it, so overly competitive that he is actually unlikeable unless you are a Packers fan/Bulls fan. I love Rodgers. However, he is a jerk in public life. Maybe in private he is a nice guy. Who knows. I think he plays one more season at Green Bay and they trade him.

I am guessing he has told them this. Also, mandatory minicamp isn't until next week. Guess we will see if he shows up or not.

You don't have to make a trade request public, I am guessing he asked for one as soon as they drafted Jordan Love.

Realize all of this, but I don't think Rodgers is worried about Packers PR. What advantage is there to Rodgers to keep trade demands private?

would mostly be out of respect for the organization. His trade value drops as soon as he makes it public that his is demanding a trade. Teams know they have to trade him.

this year? I'd be pretty stunned if they traded him this year, not because they don't want to, I'm just not sure that they can trade him, stay under the cap, and still get something other than draft picks in return.

Packers could be in a good spot if they can get Rodgers to play this year and give Love 1 more year to get better, trade Aaron next year and get some valuable picks. It all comes down to getting him to play this year.

I think he likely did tell GB in the off season he wanted out and to trade him. It was telling that Lafleur, Brian and others all flew out (separately) to see him in to talk. They knew something was up then and tried to appease Aaron before draft day. That tells me Aaron drew the line after shortly after the NFC title game. Either way, GB would be smart to cut ties now and get more value today.

What are they going to do if Aaron gets hurt playing this year by keeping him? GB would stand to lose a lot.

That’s assuming Love is the future, which I think a whole lot of people question. He has talent, but it would be like the Lakers deciding to make THT their future right now rather than trying to win with Lebron and Davis. It’s beyond sensible. THT might end up being good, but he will never be either of them good, and you try to maximize your short term opportunities.

Rodgers proved himself and by all measures was a great teammate up until the org decided to make make key moves without at least giving him a heads up (allegedly). Obviously they have the right to do that, but no organization ever does so without including their Star QB for the very reasons GB is experiencing.

I don’t necessarily understand or agree with Rodgers on a lot of this, but I sure as hell would have handled it differently if I was in Management because it was clear what was going to happen. It’s not too different from Indy deciding not to give Manning another shot after injury or Brady wanting out from Bellichek’s control. QBs have inflated egos (some of it earned over time) and require finesse.

I love Peyton and my fandom moved with him to Denver. While I’ll still be a Packers fan after Rodgers, a lot of my interest will follow wherever he goes.

I’m a packer fan and can attest it’s definitely a “team first” mentality among the fans, especially up in WI. They’ve invested a lot of time, money, and emotion into that franchise

Rodgers respect for the organization sailed a long time ago.
His agent must be telling him to keep trade demands on the QT as he works behind the scenes.
