Let's say we are aiming for the B1G. Aside from ND, which is going to the ACC if anything, who is better than ISU in terms of geography, multiple successful sports, and AAU?
Probably nobody, but the Big 10 isn't going to add ISU just because they are in limbo. It's more likely they just don't add anyone until they get the schools they want.

We would still be classified as a P5 conference. This would mean an automatic birth in the expanded 12 team playoff. However, an at-large berth for a 2nd place team would be highly unlikely.
So it would be the same scenario as joining the pac 12

There is nothing out there that says the B1G is looking to add anyone.... they don't have to.

And who says a PAC 12 is worse than the situation we are in now? If it means more stability than being in a conference with OU and TX.... then it might actually be better.

Name it the Big 16 instead of the PAC 16. Or you could name it the Sweet Sixteen.

Who knows? If the SEC expands, the B1G might want to keep up with the Jones.

And if they are in an arms race with the SEC would Kansas and Iowa State be an answer to Oklahoma and Texas?

The Big Ten is a dream for us.

I wouldn't bet on it. The SEC will probably sleaze their way into 6 guaranteed playoff spots alone in the expanded playoff.

I highly doubt the B1G sits around idle while the SEC and PAC make moves. If this thing has started, I'd think the B1G will be in there. With Warren leading things instead of Delany, it's not a great thing for the B1G. But if it really was the SEC reaching out to OU and UT instead of the other way around, who's to say the B1G doesn't reach out to one or both of them as well.

But aside from a USC and UCLA, who would be a better option for them? ND of course, but they don't want, or need the B1G

If the B1G decides to try to land OU and TX, but it fails, would they add anyone else? ND isn't an option, they aren't coming. After ND, ISU almost makes the most sense, but I'm sure you wouldn't want ISU.

No clue. Agree, ND isn't an option. And I've already made clear my thoughts and hopes on where ISU might land in all of this. Spoiler: I'd like them in the B1G.

OU ain’t AAU. Texas is possible.

I really think ISU has a lot going for it.... and the fact they have a wrestling program is probably more important than a lot of people think.

Well... I think we agree. I would gladly take the PAC 12 over the MAC, etc...

But it would be a disaster compared to where we are now. That is what I was saying.
Where we are now is over, finished, in the past. Its time to find a new home, a new game, better options. The Big 12 is dead.
