Whatever happens the 'little eight' will need to stick together! Work to make sure they all are successful.
As much as I like most of our fellow Big 12 orphans, we are only going to work with those that are advantageous for us to work with.
As they say in geopolitics, “Nations have no permanent allies, only permanent interests”

Aside from Hoch resistance, ISU has a lot to offer the B1G
And what would the big ten care about the Hawks? They would have what, maybe 8% of their overall fan base? Iowa is not a power broker in the big ten. As big ten commish we would certainly offer a lot, and i'm thinking Jamie is the right guy to sell our merits to them directly. Make it happen.

Who knows? If the SEC expands, the B1G might want to keep up with the Jones.
This, the SEC and Big Ten could become the nfc and afc of college.. Would be somewhat cool. Pac 12 is an afterthought I would seriously shudder at that idea of us there.

ISU FB can draw 40,000 fans playing the sisters of the poor. Big games and good FB are fun. We will still have good FB so we wills till draw most of us are ISU fans not conference fans. This yrs hype train has been fun but our core fan base is strong.

This isn't going to happen but if we move to a non-P5 conference, we're not going to have this kind of support. Campbell will be gone. Fans will quit caring.

Writing is on the wall. Big 12 statement is just PR bs. It’s everybody for themselves now and as much as we love ISU they are almost certainly headed for a demotion.

Something different for sure, demotion too early to tell. IMO.

for those disagreeing with my original post, don't think this is what I want to happen at all. I am just typing what I think will happen. If anything all this will make me watch less college sports.

For those disagreeing what are you thinking is happening?

I guess its possible this is a negotiation ploy but it sounds less and less likely, probably even below #4 above.
60%: ISU to Big 10
30%: ISU to PAC 12
5%: Revamped Big 12
5%: AAC or MWC

Not exactly sure.

Agree. Baylor is a dog. TCU was an add to keep Texas at 4 schools. WV is WAY out there for footprint. That leaves 5. ISU and KU are AAU schools which helps. OSU has had a good football run.

To me it comes down to TT or Kstate? I would think it would matter who helps us the most. If only two, maybe Kansas. If tiedwith kstate, then OSU maybe.

Sure, however they won’t just add ISU. They’ll look at ND/UVA/UNC/GT from the ACC, and/or the PAC schools first. If they can’t work those, then they have a history of being patient, otherwise might go for a Mizzou + KU package. ISU doesn’t get in unless all of their other options aren’t feasible and they need to pair for a new team.
Tell me how an ACC school is going to leave the ACC after just signing a GOR until almost 2040. No one in the ACC is leaving right now, they arent available, I also believe ND is part of that agreement to but not for sure. You are out of your mind, if you think someone is giving away all that money for almost 20 years.
