I believe in order to get basketball tickets you must also have football tickets. Then you just play some weird accounting games and voila.

A lot of EIU fans are saying that Iowa will never allow this happen, looking at the bylaws of the Big 10 it looks like they need 60% to pass something. Which means that they would have to be 6 NO votes to stop it from going through.

They aren't going anywhere. They can cry all they want but everyone down there will call their bluff. They aren't leaving that payday. It is funny listening to them whine.
Sources, supposedly in the know, have stated that UofI will NOT work to keep ISU out of the conference. So add Iowa to the YES vote column. (Consider the Board of Regents - they're not going to stand by and watch one of their two flagship universities go down the ****ter. So no way this happens.)

I doubt iowa would actually resist it if the others arent. Iowa's administrators would be pressured by local politicians to go along with it, and they also are generally going to act differently than fans (note how Barta was actually pretty good for us on the playoff committee last year)
Iowa will do what Ohio State and Michigan tells them to do.
If this goes down and ISU and KU end up in the Big 10, its going to be a ******** listening to the EIU fan base.

Politicians, Board of Regents, People with actual intelligence on the matter and how it is a benefit in many ways and a huge negative for ISU to fall to a lower conference, all would be pressuring the UofI to admit us. This is good for them too, and the state in general, we share a lot of common interests, and Governance.
Tavern Hawks can say what they want most have no idea what they are talking about.

Iowa is top 15-ish in terms of athletic revenue, and historically a top 25-30 program in both football and basketball. You can pretend that Iowa and Iowa State are equals all you want, but it isn’t even close to being true.
I think its funny when Hawks brag about how much revenue they have, or make, then every other day another story comes out how they are cutting programs, sports or budgets because they are in the red, cant afford them, or are losing money. Not to mention all the lawsuits for not paying their contractors continually.
I mean the Big 10 west is bad and ISU is on the rise. Seems like one of the easiest routes through the remaining P5’s.
