Switching gears here for a sec: If ISU lands in the B1G... what are the chances they will rotate the men's basketball tournament location to KC for a 2 year "on and off" with Indy? Would you be up for that?

As fun as it would be, I'd put the chance at nonexistent. If they tried it once though and ISU/KU/NU/TOE showed up in droves they might think about it. What makes the most money?

KC will sell out the Sprint Center for sure. That being said, I do not know the vibe in Indy. Anyone ever seen the big 10 tournament?

They have seem to have moved it around a bit, so I wouldn't write that idea off out of hand. I sure wouldn't push it while we are trying to find a place to land.

I’ve had friends and some family go and they said it was a ton of fun. I’m assuming us Cyclone fans would have a great time together there.

A great scenario is we are added to the Big Ten West with Kansas.

A dream scenario is the B10 gets aggressive in expansion - ISU and KU go to the West, and Notre Dame and Pitt go to the East.

That would be incredible. The big ten adding ISU, KU, ND and Pitt would be strong for the big ten for hoops, and really solid for football additions in ISU and ND.
ND isn't leaving the ACC. They are the only conference who will allow them to remain independent, and they aint giving up that money they rake in from their tv contract and brand

Indy and Chicago are basically the entire rotation.

Indy - 11 times (plus 2022)
Chicago - 10 times (plus 2023)
D.C. - once
MSG - once

Iowa State's fans certainly would be a big selling point. They obviously have a great reputation for how they travel.

And since the new calculation seems to be potential streaming numbers rather than cable viewers it would seem to be important as to how many fans a school actually has as opposed to simply how many people live in a certain market.

One measure of that would have to be related to how many people actually attend games. So some pluses for Iowa State football as they relate to home game attendance. These numbers are based on 2019 numbers reported to the NCAA.

Iowa State ranked 21st nationally in average attendance at 59,794.

They rank 3rd right behind OU and Texas in Big 12 average attendance.

If they went to the Big 10 they would rank 8th and they average....

10% more than Purdue
29% more than Minnesota
45% more than Indiana
45% more than Illinois
58% more than Maryland
59% more than Northwestern
and then 99% more than Rutgers. Read twice as many.

So some of these schools have lots of empty seats and would love to see some Iowa State fans in their stands. With being in the Big 10 West it would most certainly be guaranteed.

For the record Iowa's average attendance is 65,557 and they rank 20th nationally.

If Iowa State was in the PAC 12 they would rank 2nd. 2nd only to Washington and they average....

0.7% more than USC
11% more than Oregon
21% more than Arizona State
21% more than Colorado
28% more than Utah
36% more than UCLA
40% more than California
51% more than Arizona
61% more than Stanford
84% more than Oregon State
And 109% more than Washington State

These numbers would have to be a plus and would be included in any power point presentation that they might make to a league.

And basketball?

Men's basketball attendance ranks 15th nationally. And would be ranked 6th in the Big 10 and 1st in the PAC 12. Iowa ranks 23rd and would be 8th in the conference.

Women's basketball ranks 2nd nationally. And would be 1st in the Big 10 and 1st in the Pac 12. Iowa ranks 9th and would be 2nd in the conference.
