The guy did manage to get a DUI at 7 am and then proceed to tell others like it’s a badge of honor. He probably zipped his scrotum in his jeans in middle school but I’ll need to go back through all 500 posts to confirm. If he did, it’s in here somewhere!
I quit drinking 13 years ago. Don't make the same mistakes I did.

I was going to say, that was the biggest load of horse **** I have read in regards to all of this. Kansas has as much of a presence in the Denver market as Rutgers. Colorado is barely covered here. It goes Broncos, Broncos, Broncos, Avs, Broncos, Nuggets, Broncos, Rockies, Broncos, Broncos, Broncos, everything else way far down the list.

Not only is Denver a pro sports market, it’s a city with a lot of transplants. Not a conducive market for the college teams to gain traction. Not to mention the other recreational activities you’re competing with.

Might be more Husker fans than CU fans there (or at least back in their hey day)

KU should have learned from Missouri. In the first missile crisis, Missouri was so desperate to move the Big 10, and so vocal about it, that they looked incredibly bad when they got turned down. KU reeks of desperation. They should follow ISU's method of quiet diplomacy. It still may not work, but at least they won't look so foolish.

We made less money last year than Texas Tech. Apparently selling season tickets for 200$ doesn't net you a lot of money.

Why are you bringing up Texas Tech, a LARGE school in a LARGER state (that's rabid about pee wee football let alone college) as a point of comparison? Do you have any idea what you are even arguing or pointing out any more. I hope so as the rest of us sure don't.

I'm trying to figure out how our attendance would help other schools financially. I assume ISU only get's an invite if they bring $$$ to the table for everyone.

The better ISU is at football, the better chance they have at bringing $$$ to whatever conference they're in. If you make the CFP, you get a s*** ton of $$$ that is distributed to the specific conference. That's why the SEC grabbed OU & Texas and want the playoff to be 12 teams. More SEC teams in the playoff = more $$$.

So if ISU can sustain this success, their value is in winning on the field and less about the TV viewership, which *should* keep growing as well.

Do they support the Rockies pretty well or is that pretty much a Broncos town?

I'd say its mostly Broncos, but the other pro teams are really popular too. As with anything, if a team is winning, they will definitely be more popular. But as @Cyched posted, college sports aren't big. I used to live around the corner from the local Alabama bar, and it was never that busy even on game days. Kansas has no more traction here than ISU and we would look insanely foolish trying to tout something like that. Kansas is desperate.

I've heard the ISU and Iowa bars are actually fun there. I wouldn't be surprised if Iowa State has just as good of a following in Denver as KU does.

Aren't most of the rural areas that make up Western Kansas K-State fans anyway? I can't imagine KU has any more grads in the Denver area than ISU has in like Chicago.

My brother lives in Denver and nobody talks about CU he told me. The top 3 teams in the Denver market are:

1) Broncos
2) Broncos
3) Broncos

Denver is a nice size market, with little interest in CU sports.

What other boards are you perusing?
Big 10. There is very little interest in having us join from the majority of the fans as they already have the state of Iowa covered and we bring little to the conference, per their opinion.

I live in the Twin Cities. Many hear I am from Iowa State and will say something negative, thinking it is Iowa. I remind them it is a different school and we both hate Iowa.

Not saying any of this is an accurate perception, but it is the perception.

I guess it just depends on what boards you're going to. I've seen Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State boards all say they'd love to have ISU from a competitive perspective in football, basketball and wrestling. I've also seen that geographically and their AAU status makes them very appealing, and outside the B1G being able to poach the Pac 12 schools, ISU makes the most sense to join over anyone.
