Lol. Big 12 taking the 2-4 best AAC would still cause them to eventually lose P5 status. They’re deranged if they somehow think the remnants going to the AAC will somehow turn it into a P5.Interesting take...from the other side

Right that was my thought too, only way I could see it happen, is if Espn had some sort of media blitz for it...?Lol. Agreed. It read more like some UCF fan writing an open letter on Facebook. What an absolutely weird article. I regret taking 3 minutes to read it.

Adding any AAC programs is a non-starter for the remaining 8 (or 7).Can't wait to see his article when the Big 12 adds Houston and Cincinnati and stops at 10. Suddenly the AAC poaching won't be met with open arms in Orlando.
Or when the Big12 add UCF, will he become a fanboy of the Big12 praising its virtues? Can't wait to see his article when the Big 12 adds Houston and Cincinnati and stops at 10. Suddenly the AAC poaching won't be met with open arms in Orlando.

ESPN is obligated to fulfill the existing contract especially given they orchestrated the departure of OU/UT. After the contract expires and if the B12 stays intact, I hope like heck the B12 tells ESPN (and AAC) to eff themselves and pursue options with new entrants and their streaming platforms. The only G5 school the B12 should consider adding is BYU and ask Utah/CU to join if the money is right for them when the P12 deals expires.Easy to say that now; not so easy if the best alternative is stay as an 8-team league and risk ESPN using that as a basis to slash the TV contract.
So wanna take a guess as to how many of those AAC schools are borrowing $$ from the University annually? a ton. Cinnci AD for example borrows like $25 Million a year from the University. So these numbers are misleading. Look at the columns to the right and it will tell you the % that is borrowed.

What arguments?I am sure this would be the Big 12’s position, and I’m much less sure that a court would order this after hearing both the Big 12’s and ESPN’s arguments.
I think BYU is the top option too. I can’t imagine any other P5 school joining the Big 12 at the moment. And I don’t think a league with less than 10 schools minimum is very viable. That means at least one AAC school, or maybe Boise State too or something.

Living down here in Orlando I can tell you that stinks of UCF fandom.Agreed. It read more like some UCF fan writing an open letter on Facebook.
Lol well they can dream. They have multiple conference losses the couple of seasons…. In the American. they aren’t some juggernaut. Maybe frosty will come back and save them.Living down here in Orlando I can tell you that stinks of UCF fandom.
The local radio down here has been absolutely convinced that the AAC is the big dog and need to be raiding the Big XII. The common theme is that the Big XII stole WVU and TCU so turn about is fair play.
The local blowhards also see UCF as VASTLY superior to any of the remaining 8. There is a level of delusional down here only rivaled by the chest pounding found in Iowa City.
What arguments?
One of the UCF sites (maybe the SB nation one) tried to a similar claim because over the past few years if you omitted Texas and OU games TV ratings were similar. However, if you looked at last year, the Big 12 non-Texas and OU games had a significant advantage over the AAC games. Also because you are omitting OU, that means you are not counting the Big 12 CCG, yet they WERE counting the AAC CCG, which inflated their ratings. You also had a couple seasons in there where Cincy and UCF were being promoted and getting some good slots you wouldn't typically get for AAC teams.Living down here in Orlando I can tell you that stinks of UCF fandom.
