I suspect that KH and the rest of the ESPN Gameday crew are going to try and throw some bones to the Angry 8 in order to help their public perception. Could certainly see Iowa at ISU or Texas at ISU. Also I would expect Oklahoma at Oklahoma State to get a look.

This is a PERFECT opportunity to convince the B1G how many more eyeballs can be put on this game. It's a metric that is only influenced by ESPN marketing. I think this is a win-win for ISU.
AHHHH. Hence the strategy I was missing in my earlier post. Build the numbers, B1G is convinced to add ISU and ESPN has one less B12 member to worry about leaving them one step closer to no penalty.

Flame away, but… what channel was the Field of Dreams game on last night? I watched it, but paid ZERO attention to which channel it was (YouTubeTV). If it was ESPN, they might try to piggyback the overwhelmingly positive light that the state of Iowa showed last night.

That game was on FOX.

Great story but hard pass. Kevin Costner just owned the Field of Dreams promos. He'd be better option. Or some sort of tie to 9/11 since it's 20 years. George W Bush!!
It’ll be somebody like Toby Keith.

The Texas or OU games would be way better imo.

Either one means that the game means something for the season, and with all of the realignment crap, it gives ISU fans a chance to show how they run **** when it comes to hosting or traveling. It's not like OU and UT aren't going to get the limelight anyway, so ISU might as well max out their use.

I'd imagine there would be quite a campaign to get ISU fans to flood Norman even more with that kind of motivation.

***I have no ****ing idea how after last season, with the potential of this season, anyone could remotely consider the Iowa game as the biggest unless you just can't get past the 1980s, which means you're actually an Iowa fan.

Week 2 options E$PN would rather go to:
Oregon at Ohio State (because they love both)
Texas at Arkansas (pump up the future SEC teammates)
Washington at Michigan (ABC's 7pm game)
Utah at BYU (good rivalry)
Stanford at USC (good game)

Yeah, if they’ve got a national audience in mind they won’t pick the CyHawk game over that slate.

Guessing Oregon-OSU will be the choice, but TX-Arkansas wouldn’t surprise me, given the SEC is now ESPNs baby
