Fremont street is where i do most of my gambling just because the tables on the strip can get outrageous on the weekends. If you're going to gamble on the strip do it during the day.
Agreed on Fremont street being betterFremont street is where i do most of my gambling just because the tables on the strip can get outrageous on the weekends. If you're going to gamble on the strip do it during the day.
Looks like the Prince tribute show is at my hotel (Tropicana). I'm thinking about trying some of the more edgy magic/comedy shows. However, I've never actually seen Penn & Teller in person. Murray the Magician is also at the Tropicana.
What sort of discounts will I get for going to shows on the property where I'm staying? Oh my, what an Iowa Dad question to ask!
Hey @Cycsk I am not ignoring you, just want to give a proper response. Started working on it yesterday.
That will be tough to do on unlv weekend. Fremont street has a huge music festival going on that weekend. Not going to be easy to even get aroundFremont street is where i do most of my gambling just because the tables on the strip can get outrageous on the weekends. Looking forward to your comprehensive report! You've created high expectations for your contributions related to the Vegas trip!
Will you be throwing a Cyclone Tailgate in Vegas?
I've been thinking about it. Hard to imagine many times when groups of fans will want to get together. Shows and gambling run late. No one gets up early.
Maybe have a bunch of Cyclone Fanatics in the background for C-Dubs as he does the Sports Fanatics show from a Sportsbook.
- Drinking games ("Chris just said 'Daddy Like,' drink," "Chris just mentioned something poop-related, drink.")
- Sports Fanatics Bingo ("Ross gives the Cyclones a back-handed compliment," "Comparison of Vegas to Field of Dreams," etc.)
- Prop bets ("number of times Z stumps them with the bumper music").
If you decide to I've got 6 interested in getting together in my group. Would throw some money your way too
There will likely be an official one held by MGM resorts in the parking lot of Luxor. Though it’s more like a pay to buy beer and food than bring it own stuff2 thoughts on tailgate. IF there is one I think it would be a huge draw BUT Vegas is a big tailgate it’s self So is it really needed?

Is the MGM one likely to be worth it? For instance, will it include ISU celebrities and fun things that are unique to us. Not like the lame things put on in the mornings before bowl games by the venues!
It was awesome in Arlington last year to have an entire bar going all-in for us. Wait staff, TV’s, DJ, banners, etc.
At $12 a beer $99 for unlimited with food is not badI think it's gonna be far closer to the lame ones put on during Bowl games by the venue/partners. Jamie Pollard came out and said there wouldn't be any official ISU events so I wouldn't expect any Cyclone celebrities and the like.
Here is a rendering plus a small pic of what it was like for the preseason game. Hoping more info comes out as they figure it out during the preseason games and the Monday night game.
Haven't seen real prices but a buffet and unlimited drinks are gonna be $99
I do all my gambling at the El Cortez downtown. It’s NEVER been crowded when I have been there, and I doubt this weekend is any different. The place is actually a couple blocks off Fremont Street. It’s one of the few casinos in the city where you can still play $5 blackjack AND get paid 3 or 2 when you get backjack. DO NOT play at a table that pays 6 to 5 for a blackjack. It’s a total rip off. That will be tough to do on unlv weekend. Fremont street has a huge music festival going on that weekend. Not going to be easy to even get around
Is there a link for this event?I think it's gonna be far closer to the lame ones put on during Bowl games by the venue/partners. Jamie Pollard came out and said there wouldn't be any official ISU events so I wouldn't expect any Cyclone celebrities and the like.
