I didn't hear anyone explicitly say they have no plans to expand. But even if they did, they cannot publicly say they are looking to take teams from the B12 or any other conference. The goal was to project stability. I actually found the comments from the ACC commissioner saying the B12 matters to be encouraging, because by extension, it means that the schools in the B12 matter in the world of D1 college football.
The national click bait media guys are the only ones that push the no value added narrative. It's really pathetic how they continue to crap on the remaining schools because it's simply not true and the Pac and B1G realize that.

Over Dave Wannstedt? Yes. It’s funny how some people will believe a 3rd tier sportscaster who has no access to the ACC because they are not even a part of fox network over what the actual commissioners have said.

Firmly entrenched.

This "Alliance" is really like all of the neighbors on a street agreeing to not put up a fence. They meet, drink beers & come to a verbal agreement. But then 8 months later 1 gets a new job, sells & moves and the new family immediately puts up a fence because there is no signed document.

Not sure what to make of this.

Seems like an odd way for titanic news like that to come out.

Wannstedt does seem kind of like a dope who would spill the beans, though.

The three non-SEC conferences going to 16 would make sense as this point.

ISU and KU are the obvious fits in the Big Ten of those remaining. Same with WVU in the ACC.

Pac-16 picks up whatever four it wants of the remainder at that point.

Maybe ACC adds one more or maybe it holds out for Notre Dame.

Seemed oddly specific he'd articulate a "plan" that makes sense for the parties involved.

Probably nonsense, but oddly specific and logistical for a scenario to make up.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but if Fox was wanting to leak something to help pressure things in the their preferred direction, that makes Dave the perfect candidate. If it doesn't work, that's just Dave being Dave.

But is it a chain link fence or a wooden one? And if chain link, are we talking black vinyl coated or just the bare metal?

I'm really starting to think they will pluck the remaining Big 12 members. That's why they said the Big 12 has worth.

Drunken agreements are way more binding in my world than yours.

Still see this as the BIGACCPAC wanting to counter-balance the SEC move...not moving forward will simply force them into following the SEC lead here, also putting ESPN in control. If Fox wants to stay competitive, then it is going to move the BIGACCPAC forward. Balancing out the BIG with ISU/KU, ACC with ND/WV, and PAC with TT, OSU, KSU, and TCU will generate regional rivalries and higher TV/streaming numbers. The BIGACCPAC also can drive terms for CFP and whatever shape the NCAA morphs into.

It's mostly ridiculing the alliance as toothless because there are no signed contracts. What they neglect to consider is that signed contracts would likely have to list details that none of them would want getting out right now.

Those conferences all know that they aren't getting poached at the moment. No one in the Big 12 can agree to any agreement right now because they will all accept an invitation to one of those three when it is extended so any sort of agreement including the Big 12 is transparently meaningless. I do think that those conferences want to see as much extracted from OU and UT as possible and they are willing to let the Big 12 stand so as to achieve that goal. There's zero reason to make an official move before OU and UT leaving is imminent.

Instability and questions on the near future aren’t good for business, ever.

I think most of the loudest voices are ones who are either naive enough to think that three conferences comprising 41 schools would have a signed contract in two weeks, or ones who want to make the agreement look bad because they're SEC shills.
