The Big 12 expanding without any of the 8 getting into the Pac-12/ACC/Big Ten is the most likely outcome. The people who act like it’s a guarantee sure-fire thing that we are going to the B1G or the Pac at absolute worst are deluding themselves. But that’s still possible too.

How mad will you be when the big 10 happens? You will literally lose your mind with disappointment

And you never did answer, what are those contract terms that the espn lawyers are going to use in court to decimate the lawyers for the big 12?

Gonna start calling the secret plan believers like yourself B1GAnon.

No one knows yet but if you got truth serum into Pollard I bet we could guess how he’d handicap the possibilities.

This should have been a contingency in any SWOT analysis. I don’t have any faith that this was considered given the financial risks he has taken. That is inexcusable!!

what did you want him to do? Not extend Matt Campbell? Not expand jack truce? Come on, be serious.

So if no one knows why do you continue to say the same thing over and over?

And the contract language. Thanks in advance

Go ahead and quote my post about “decimating” or whatever you made up and I’ll be happy to answer it

Wait and you’ll find out when it gets there. If you think ESPN’s lawyers won’t have arguments why they can pay us less if we have an 8-school league then I can’t help you.
I don’t speculate about legal arguments for free but people who are (very well) paid by ESPN to do so would certainly be able to do so.
I don’t think it’s valuable to discuss legal strategy about a nine-figure contract dispute on a message board with someone who has not read the contract and wouldn’t be qualified to interpret it anyway.

No one knows how this will shake out - which makes it funnier (to me) that the original post that spurred this conversation was from someone else categorically saying the Big 12 will not admit any AAC universities. It’s foolish to say that with any certainty, just like it’s foolish to read an article about a contract and declare that the outcome you really want to happen is guaranteed to happen.

If you think any Cyclone fan right now feels "certain" of anything...you're a peawit. We're all reading tea leaves and hoping for a positive outcome. We're also fully aware of the potential for lesser outcomes...like an expanded Big 12. Perhaps you should take your "B1GAnon" stuff and shove it.

It’s hilarious that you think “If you think ESPN’s lawyers won’t have arguments why they can pay us less if we have an 8-school league then I can’t help you” somehow makes me look dumb.

You’re lack of self awareness is as strong as your lack of reading comprehension.

You made a blanket statement, got shut down and then tried to pretend you were above it.

So here is your chance you can cite the very sections in the contract you have read, and explain why the remaining 8 schools will not get a full payday and damages

The floor is yours

It’s impressive how you can keep strawmanning what you would like to pretend I said, even after quoting all of it two posts ago, which shows I never said that.

You never said that espn’s lawyers would have arguments to win the day. And said that you weren’t going to discuss contracts with people who had not read them, directly implying you had. And then pretended that you wouldn’t discuss it for free, again directly implying you are an attorney.

Then when asked to expound on your assertion here today, with the chance to clear the air and shut me up, you’re pretending you didn’t say all this, especially when you said other people would not be qualified to understand what the contract contains.

Dude, I know you have moved on in your anti Iowa state troll, but these are serious implied statements. So you can now take the time to explain why espn will be off the hook

Per Max Olson of The Athletic: The Pac 12 will announce its decision on whether it intends to expand before the end of the week, George Kliavkoff told @TheAthletic

Lets all hope the Pac 12 announces they are exploring every possible avenue of expansion with imminent plans to expand.
They won't expand. The Pac-12 jumps when the Big 10 tells them. The Big 10 announces they are not playing due to Covid, Pac-12 swiftly follow. Big 10 then plays, Pac-12 then plays too. These guys have always been tied at the hip. Since the Big 10 isn't expanding anytime soon, the Pac-12 won't either.

I want ISU in the B1G or SEC one of the two Power league super powers.

Some fans not separate commenting on a subject from what you think is reality and from what an individual fan wants? No matter how much you or I want something doesn't mean its likely to happen.

I posted an article the most popular beat writer for the PAC and quotes from the ACC & PAC commissioners and you call my post dumb. You can not like it but it doesn't mean its dumb. It would seem to be pretty relevant and predicting. You don't think direct quotes from two of the 3 commissioners in the alliance are not relevant? I don't like the quotes but it doesn't mean its not relevant.

I hope on Friday the PAC commissioner comes out and says we have found that expansion is profitable for the PAC and will begin moving forward considering candidates. But how does that coincide with this statement from him?
"You cannot very well say “the things you can achieve by expanding are things we can achieve by the relationships we announced this morning” with the alliance — as Kliavkoff told Sports Illustrated — and then turn around and expand."

That says to me things are staying status quo and the Big 12 will be left to decide whether to go to 10 or 12 teams, after OU & UT exit. That will probably be on hold until the settlements are figured out.

Only thing I could see happening is Pac-12 adding two for the reason that they would get the same size as their B1G friends. I would guess Tech and OSU. If the B1G later expanded to 16 with ISU and KU, the Pac would maybe get 2 more.

If the PAC ever did expand…ISU/KU would be the 2 in my opinion. 1) Academics 2) Academics 3) Because the Big 10 wants them to take these 2 schools. ISU vs Iowa is a decently watched game perfect for an alliance type of game.

Why would the big 10 care of the PAC expands? Or more appropriately, why would the Big 10 be against the PAC expanding? In fact, if the PAC or ACC takes on teams, doesn’t it just put even more teams and a little more power in their bloc?

This is all going to take months if not years to figure out.

B1G TV deal is coming up soon, as the PAC. That will probably drive the next set of moves. The Big12 may need to stay intact for another season.
