IOWA STATE TO BIG TEN?!? Dave Wannstedt thinks so.

Wannstedt could be right. If Tech, TCU and Baylor are the ones left out, then the Big 12 won't have enough votes to dissolve. That would put the onus back on OuT and the SEC to either settle with the R8 or offer 1-3 more invites to the SEC. We will find out soon enough what the Pac 12 intends to do.

I have been extremely pessimistic but I am starting to let myself believe there’s a real shot that the league soaks OU and UT for a settlement and then almost immediately afterward ISU/KU go to the B1G, TCU/Tech/OSU/KSU go to the Pac-16, and WVU goes to the ACC.

I think it would happen very fast to allow the B1G and Pac to kick off their TV rights negotiations in earnest with their 32 schools locked in for the duration of the new deal. Those deals expire in 2024 and I could see all of this getting announced next year with the schools jumping to first play in 2024.

One of many reasons why this is so quiet is because there is not going to be a landing spot for all 8 schools. In this scenario, Baylor would be left holding the bag. I would expect they’d get a substantially larger share of the OU/UT settlement than the other 7 do in order to wind down the Big 12 so that they could go to the American as the wealthiest AD there by far. With their facilities and $$$ and recruiting footprint, Baylor could be an expanded CFP contender from the American competing with UCF and Cincinnati. Not the end of the world for them.

If Jon effing Miller is seriously talking about ISU to the B1G then I’m gonna let myself believe it’s a real possibility.

From what I've seen, there is no reporting on this.

You have Wanny saying something happened at the Fox meetings. You have no reporters or sourced individuals saying this. You've got one guy. That's not reporting, that heresay IMO, and he was hardly the only guy in those meetings. Again, when UT and OU went down, within the same day, we had all kinds of sports reporters confirming it and comments from heavy hitters within the conferences. We don't have any of that in this case. Again, if we get ACTUAL reporting on this, I'll change my tune.

Because Texas Oklahoma the SEC and ESPN had been in talks for many months and already had an agreement. Nobody can agree to anything or even admit talks until Texas and OK pay for their transgressions.

Which answers the SEC question posed above to the ACC commish's comments, if the Big 12 is important, why aren't they in the alliance? Because, the Alliance doesn't need the Big 12 votes right now.

Its also a sticky point that the Big 12 involves Texas and Oklahoma right now. Why would those leagues be in talks with a Big 12 while those 2 teams still have a seat at the table?

This will be so appropriate when Iowa State and Ohio State are battling for the title..... total mind game with the announcers.

Did I read correctly the Pac 12 intends to announce their plans regarding possible expansion or lack thereof by end of week? Does that mean they intend to announce which Universities they have extended invites to or simply that they are or are not actively pursuing expansion? If they announce their plans to add KState and Okie State there will be some merit and instant credibility to Wannstedts story...

There is no way that they are going to name teams. I have no clue about their intentions but I do know that

They aren’t going to name teams or even say they are expanding. It will be not at this time due to the litigation. Luck will be talking to Hanks and coordinating whatever needs to be.

I’m not rich but you can’t pay me enough to read stories about this. I’ve read none and will read none.

If I could convince you to read just one it would be the stuff coming out from topfootballbloglandmidwestrootssouthlandpigskin.com

Since OuT has announced they’re leaving they no longer get to vote in league matters.

I see it going down like this... OuT leave after this season and then try weaseling out of paying the full amount or anywhere near the full amount, and drag it into some kind of mediation process at which point the lawyers get involved. I think they'll drag it on as long as they can hoping the Big 12 caves first.

For the record, I hope SECESPN loses.
I think OuT plays 2 more seasons before exiting. The fall of 2023 will be the new SEC. There is too much red tape and scheduling to work through before the change.
The good news is ISU fans will get to boo the $hit out of OU at the Jack one last time.

I'm confused here. So many people said we were screwed and heading toward Bowling Green status. Just bait for real football and basketball

Per Max Olson of The Athletic: The Pac 12 will announce its decision on whether it intends to expand before the end of the week, George Kliavkoff told @TheAthletic

Lets all hope the Pac 12 announces they are exploring every possible avenue of expansion with imminent plans to expand.

I could see them making Nebraska as KU's "rival." CyHawk game just would be too good to pass up for rivalry week. College Gameday is not coming to a Nebraska vs Iowa game any time soon but they will for a CyHawk so just seems too obvious why that game would not be on black Friday if ISU joined the Big10

Honestly I would rather play Iowa in week 2. Good tailgating weather and less competition for big games.

The only other ranked matchup right now (might have missed one) is Oregon vs OSU and that's in the early timeslot.

I can tell you with a high degree of certainty that they will announce they are staying put. I can also tell you that statement is meaningless.
