Chicago Bears bought Arlington Heights track only to build next to Soldier Field?

Soldier Field is a trash stadium by nfl standards. They need to build a top shelf retractable dome stadium.
Now if they can sell the team and let someone who cares about winning run it, that’d be great too.
Oh and a new GM and HC
What's up with the NFC North and their ownership groups.

Green Bay = No one??? Wild.
Chicago = Halas-McCaskey family and people want them to sell
Detroit = Ford-Hamp family and people booed her SO LOUD last weekend, want them to sell
Minnesota = Seem to be accepted...

I mean Detroit is so awful that two one in a generation talents retired early instead of playing for them.

We tend to usually stay in Plaza. Take MLK to LC's for BBQ before games, then take a wooded back road to the K/Arrowhead. Works great.

LC's BBQ yummmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!! Their beans are so good.

Cant you park and ride a blue line transfer to red or green and be about 2 blocks from Wrigley in about an hour? Time on the train to me is a mystery because I sleep or read.

I've gotten to Wrigley many different ways. When staying near the airport, we take the blue line in, transfer to a bus, then that would drop you off outside of Wrigley. It can take up to an hour doing that.

When we stayed downtown, getting on the red line there was super convenient, except for post game when the station is mobbed.

When we drive in from Iowa, I usually drove to Skokie and caught the yellow/purple lines in, then transfer to red. While that wasn't bad for parking and traveling within Chicago, it took some time traveling through the northern suburbs, however better than being backed up on I-90.

The red line can be crazy after games. I usually do what I do before games, have a drink somewhere.
I love day games. Usually get off at Belmont, have breakfast at Anne Sather, then walk it off on the way up to Wrigley. Probably half a mile.

I've been inside Soldier Field three times, twice for a Bears game and once for a concert. Each time we stayed downtown, so getting there via red line and doing the "mile walk" really wasn't that bad and better than getting to many stadiums. For the concert, we were running late and actually got a cab, where then we just had to hop out about a mile down the road as traffic wasn't moving at all.

Bears had no fun before and after the games. The tailgating and festivities were basically non-existent. The after-game tailgating or bar hopping was non-existent. This was a shock for me coming from ISU games and Cub games.

Sucks to think of them leaving Soldier Field but that area needs to be able to host Super Bowls and Final Fours.
Yep, and CFB Title Game, Wrestlemania's etc.

Who shouldn't like this at all is the City of Indianapolis. Some of the events they currently host a lot (Final 4's, B1G Championship Game, CFB National Title game which they are hosting this year) may want to go to the Central Regions much larger market now instead.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure Chicago watching Indianapolis become the "Big Game" epicenter of the Midwest was something they couldn't handle anymore.

Downtown Indy is pretty walkable in terms of the football and bball arenas though but I do agree with you.

It will be interesting when the stadium plans are released. For some reason Chicago fans seem to love ******* awful weather for football. 'Bear weather"

Will the Bears have the first retractable dome where they leave the thing open during **** weather? Grass field or turf?

This move is a big deal for the franchise. Big time. In stadium gambling is almost a given. Dispensary? Get Bears edibles, throw down a bet, and dull the pain from watching Chicago ball

Probably nice back in the day to be next to the airport.
TBH I think the new Twins park was done really well. TWolves arena is a dump. They should just fold the franchise or play in StP.
I agree. The Twins ballpark is terrific. US Bank stadium is nice, too. Put both in Bloomington, with all the parking lot room and easy access... BOOM. You got something good. And safer than downtown as well.
