Someone on staff told me it was there if they had a clean snap

What was there? It sure didn't look super open to me. I mean, maybe he finds someone but we will never know.

I guess I'm not all to surprised someone from the staff that called the play thinks the play would have worked....

Just relaying what I was told

I think the play was silly anyway. You line up in the shotgun, you never go under center when you don’t do it regularly

personally I’m a fan of getting the ball in your best player’s hands. I would have probably went with the handoff to breece.

But I always liked that short pass to Allen that they ran with regularity for years

I mean, you would sh*t on him no matter what he did.

Absolutely false. I give Purdy all the credit in the world when he has great games. But only looking at the stat sheet does NOT indicate a good performance at the QB position. That's all some people seem to look at.

As I've said before.... you can go 17-23 for 255 yds and 2 TD and 1 INT..... and not have a good game at all. Stats don't tell the whole story.

But as I've also said.... Purdy's biggest problem is not himself.... but Manning and by default CMC. They have not strategized at all to Purdy's strengths... and that is why he has regressed.

I’m going to need you to dial it back about 20-30%. Purdy does not have a great arm, he has a fairly good arm, but not great. He has a high accuracy number because our routes are not long. Short passes equal higher completions.

He is a pretty darn good, but he has his limitations as we’ve seen.
He’s an an average game manger QB on a team with an elite RB and very good defense. Prone to making mistakes and limits what the OC can do.
Right now he’s closer to being just a middle of the road QB than he is a difference maker. Somewhat by design imo

30. BROCK PURDY, IOWA STATE CYCLONES
There isn’t a more unique quarterback in college football than Brock Purdy. He has steadily declined throughout his collegiate career, sporting single-season passing grades of 88.0, 82.2 and 74.2 in his first three years on campus. This year, Purdy currently stands at an 84.2 mark, but that’s largely buoyed by the three poor defenses he has faced in Northern Iowa, UNLV and Kansas. He earned a sub-60.0 passing grade against Iowa and Baylor.

The cyclones signal-caller has been notorious for excellent timing and anticipation when playing in the structure of the offense but turns into a gunslinger who tries to make superhero plays when knocked off rhythm.
