Yeah, but those semi-finals might be worth just about as much as the first playoff round. It's worth it even if it means losing out on a CFP every 10 years or so.
For real. I could see them having these games in Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas, Nashville. Could be a huge money maker. Sort of becomes a defacto CFP at that point.
And I still wouldn't watch 'em !!!You then play your semi final round the last week of the regular season, and the finals during the weekend every other conference does. Which means that you are playing semi final games the week of the Army/Navy game when everyone else takes the week off.
Big 10 is boring in football and basketball. If the tv payout wasn't such an issue, would rather stay in the Big 12 and help make it a stable and fun conference.
West Virginia has a less then zero chance of joining the big tenIf B1G goes to 16 like that guy on Twitter thinks, here are a couple of options. Not sure if any of them make a ton of sense; just depends on the politics. Gotta think Penn St/Ohio St/Michigan don't want to be in the same pod as each other, but who knows.
- Rutgers/Maryland/West Virginia/Penn St.
- Ohio St./Indiana/Purdue/Illinois
- Michigan/Michigan St./Wisconsin/Northwestern
- Minnesota/Iowa/Nebraska/ISU or KU

The SEC was boring in football when it was a defensively oriented league but nobody notice because they (cough cough Saban) kept winning titles. Basketball can be but again, nobody cares if you win.
I like the Big 12 but with much of the original core (Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, OU) gone, I'd rather be in the Big 10. It's a better geographical fit, would be a great academic fit, and there would be better congruency with sports. Big 10 is big on wrestling and Iowa State has a historic program. They have D1 hockey and I bet we'd add that program. Lots of existing (Nebraska, Iowa) and potential rivals. If KU and ISU went together it would be a no brainer.
If the Big 12 had worked together from the get-go it would have been a great conference. But it lacked leadership and had to deal with Texas always pushing it's own agenda. More than anything I want the geography and the natural rivals it can produce.

Yeah and isn't WRNL formatted thru 247? Or is it another national board I'm not remembering?Maybe you can tell me, since I keep asking all of these hawkroaches who pretend this site isn’t there whole life
What are some good sites for other big 10 schools. I’d like to read about what other schools are going through.
247 is boring. Looking for kind of independent fan sites.

There is zero scenario where West Virginia is invited, and you have it twice lol.
I wholeheartedly agree. I cannot imagine the B1G caving on AAU status, but I was responding to this tweet below.
To me, if it's Big12, it's KU and ISU. If they go to 16, gotta think AAU schools or bust. If ISU/KU, below makes the most sense other than I cannot imagine your B1G major schools liking the last pod (MN/Neb/ISU/KU) in football. Everything else though makes sense to me geographically and rivalry-wise.

Btw the fact that this guys actually thinks WVU is an option for the big ten pretty much invalidates every single thing he says. The big ten presidents who actually make these decisions would never ever allow WVU to join.
The main problem is that their academics are abysmal. The big ten is beyond arrogant and would not like to be referenced in the same sentence as WVU. Nebraska was already a stretch and they are about 100 ranks ahead of WVU.I agree with what you're saying. That said, can you spell it out for us exactly WHY they'd never consider WVU?

JFC, WVU will never, ever be in the B1G.
The B1G literally turned down Oklahoma because of academics. They aren’t taking West Virginia.
