Pod scheduling maybe coming to another power 5 soon along with the SEC. New Big 12 needs to do the same. Guaranteed games against your protected rivals and then rotate through the rest of the league with top 2 making a championship game

When other conferences go to this, it’s going to be touted as the greatest invention ever…while ignoring that the B12 has been doing it for years.

Angry Bowlsby is the best Bowlsby

Asked about rumors he demanded Big 12 schools extend their grant of rights agreements beyond 2025, Bowlsby had a simple response: "********."

Thanks for sharing is the ‘vs 19’ data based on network/time or opponents?
Ya not sure either, here is an excerpt from week 5 that may give us some insights.

" Mississippi-Alabama was the top college football game of the weekend, averaging a 2.7 rating and 4.79 million viewers on the SEC on CBS — the network’s most-watched game in week five of the season since 2015. The Tide’s easy win actually declined 3% in ratings, but increased 1% in viewership, compared to last year (Texas A&M-Alabama: 2.75, 4.76M). Versus the same matchup in 2019, ratings and viewership jumped 21% and 34% respectively from a 2.2 and 3.59 million. "

UT uses the PROFIT from football ($105 million) not only to finance the rest of the athletic department, but after paying for that, they are able to pass along over $20 million to the university general fund. The incentive for the athletic department to grow profits to offset under financing of the University by the Texas Legislature are a huge reason for them to leave the B12 for the wealthier SEC.

Considering that UT will be trading their ESPN Longhorn network for a single payment from the SEC, ESPN should be ecstatic to keep supporting the B12, as they continue to lose money on this venture.

ISU's academics would "qualify" for B1G (and PAC and ACC), but not be "impressive" or "elite".

Bit of a rant, but I don't love the academic rankings as they are done, esp the USNWR ones. It's far far far too heavily weighted on dumb things like how many applicants you deny. A school like ISU that has published minimums for acceptance -- well hardly anyone who can't make those will apply so the denial rate is really low, by design.

Another problem is opinions of academic bigwigs. Those opinions are relevant, but the Altimore report shows you how incestuous the Alliance schools are with personnel, so guess what? That's a super self-serving opinion circle.
They really aren’t relevant because the presidents just don’t know. Gladwell spent two episodes of Revisionist History talking about it. You will wonder why it’s used at all after hearing it.

Any guesses what the TV Ratings/Viewers were for the oSu@ISU game?

Great game, good time, end of year implications, controversial calls. Should I add great atmosphere, not sure that translates to better TV experience, but it can't hurt.

Feel like anytime you get a good upset game like that (even though ISU was favored by 7) always brings in the eyeballs
Here’s this guy shitting on any positive again with some caveat as to why it got what it got. Or it was just known to college football fans as one of the best matchups of the day, as ISU/OSU games have been damn entertaining for the last several years.

Wasn't shitting on it at all. It was a great game and i watched pretty much the whole thing. The fact that you have a top ten team in conference and another team that is a 7 point favorite against said top ten team shows depth of the league and value. No everyone is out to get you ya know
