The fact that both ISU and Iowa can still make their conference championship tells you all you need to know about this college football season……. it sucks! The quality of play is WAY down.
This is a fair point and why this year is even more frustrating that things didn't work out. Because outside of Georgia, there is a lot of good to mediocre at best teams out there this year (we are included in that bunch). Too bad we couldn't take advantage of it.

Okay. In crunching the remaining games for the teams ahead of us: If OU loses out (ISU, @Okie St), Baylor loses out (@KSU, TTech), KSU wins out (Baylor, @texas), and ISU wins out (@OU, TCU).

In the above scenario, we have a 3 way 6-3 tie for 2nd place which in my understanding is then decided by records vs teams who are tied (mini-round-robin).

ISU would be 2-0 vs said teams and the other two would be 1-1, 0-2 in this scenario. So we'd play Okie St (assuming they beat Tech) for all the marbles. Hey, it could happen.
So…you’re saying there’s a chance?!?

I stand by my 7-5 prediction for ISU, but there is a path to OSU at 8-1 with 4 teams tied at 6-3 (OU, Baylor, ISU, and KSU) which would be amusing to me more than anything. Actually, this might be the most straightforward of all of the potential tie-breakers which could get really screwy.

OSU beats TTU & OU
OU loses to ISU & OSU
Baylor loses to KSU & wins vs TTU
ISU beats OU & TCU
KSU beats Baylor & Texas

If I'm reading the tiebreaker rules right, ISU gets in by #1 with the mini-round-robin format. Would be super ridiculous and as I said, ISU would probably lose to TCU on black Friday, but there is a path.

ISU: 2-1
KSU: 1-2
Baylor: 1-2
OU: 1-2

I'm as optimistic as they come, but this dream is over. I'm sure I'll be excited for OU by the time we get to Saturday, but it's going to be a little depressing to only be playing for pride. A win at OU would still be cool.

This is the only scenario I see that we are in:

What about @AppleCornCy 's 3 ways:

The three ways I see:

A. Iowa State wins out, Baylor loses out, Oklahoma State wins out. We play Oklahoma State.

B. Iowa State wins out, Baylor loses out, Oklahoma State loses to Texas Tech. We play the Bedlam winner.

C. Iowa State wins out, Kansas State wins out, Oklahoma State loses out. We play Oklahoma.

As crazy as this sounds the only game that is a bit of stretch would be Tech winning at Baylor. But who the hell knows.
