I'd love for some NCAA statistics guru to tell me what the chances of winning are when a team shoots 5% (as in 1 for 20) from 3 point range. I'm sure the chances are very remote. I know our team already hangs their hat on defense, but this should really reinforce to them how important it is.

Kunc is coming around. Thought Conditt looked pretty solid tonight. Surprised he wasn’t in there more since we were trying to drive and dish and he’s by far our strongest finisher at the rim. Lots of would be assists getting blocked tonight. Do like Jones’ head fakes, though.

I really did trust we could keep them from scoring when they got the ball back down 3. Long time since I could say that.

Like Scotty C said, you’ve gotta be able to win ugly. And while obviously we would’ve preferred to blow them out, I think it’s good for this team to get tested like that. The Oregon State win was big, but it wasn’t really super close. Getting experience together in those late game situations like tonight will pay off down the road

That’s been a big positive with this team. They are tough defensively and I am surprised how good they’ve been.

They stay busy and close things off pretty effectively.

Doesn't look all that complicated either.

Were players just told too many things previously?

Checked in on Iowa after this game ended. Much better 3-point shooting, currently 4-21!
Seriously, that was a really ugly offensive game, but the effort, the hustle, the 2 huge dunks, and making some FTs down the stretch were all nice to see.

Lots more I think you learn from these games than a blowout. Just hope they can have a few cake walks down the road.

Robert Jones looks like Joachim Noah.
Sort of combo Noah & Adam Morrison.
With the mustache, the mop of wig-like curly hair, and the generic name...

I think the player we know as Robert Jones might have transferred to ISU as part of the Witness Protection Program...

How do we know Denver University basketball even really exists? Have you ever seen one of their games? Well, HAVE YOU!?

The good: Hunter is going to be a star, defense is here to stay, I think Robert Jones will give us some good minutes.

The bad: We were out-rebounded by both Kennesaw St and Alabama St, we’re gonna see a lot of zone defense with our lack of shooters.

It may be because with their limited number of inside players just getting back on defense will prevent excessive fouling.

Ugly win, without a doubt, but its also a win. When you only had 2 total wins last season, and are already at 3 after 3 games, with a new staff, I will take it.
Continue to love the hustle of the kids, going after lose balls. The idea that even if your shots are not falling, you can still hustle, is something that we have not be seeing in the past couple of years. No mopping around, just playing hard.

I was more impressed with them than OSU.

I'm not sure what to think. They didn't strike me as a sub 250-300 ranked team. Are they actually decent or were we just really bad tonight. They have some nice athletes I'll he interested to see how their conference season plays out.

We missed 44 shots(!!). That’s the biggest reason for the rebounding numbers.
