Someone mentioned Springstein's "Born in the USA". I was on the Ag travel course in '85. We stayed in a international hotel (no locals, only people hard currency) where they let us bring our own music. We were too immature to realize that belting out the lyrics to everysong on that CD in the bar probably helped with the ugly American syndrome...

No doubt. Being that I celebrate his entire catalog, I stenuously concur. Although, I'm more partial to Sign o' the times and Parade (listening to it right now) than to Purple Rain. I don't know that I could pick just one favorite, but if I did, it would most certainly come from among this group: Paisley Park, Lady Cab Driver, Baby I'm A Star, Alphabet St, Girls & Boys, Do U Lie?, Sometimes It Snows In April, Strange Relationship, The Ballad of Dorothy Parker or Play In The Sunshine.
