Someone mentioned Springstein's "Born in the USA". I was on the Ag travel course in '85. We stayed in a international hotel (no locals, only people hard currency) where they let us bring our own music. We were too immature to realize that belting out the lyrics to everysong on that CD in the bar probably helped with the ugly American syndrome...

What about Air Supply. All out of Love.
If it is good enough to be on the Family Guy it is good enough for me
How about a little love for Gone Daddy Gone and Add It Up! The Femmes were from Milwaukee...correct?

Great song! I have tried unsuccessfully to download this song onto my IPOD. It is nowhere to be found digitally. What gives? You can find the Violent Femmes and many other "oldies" (God, I hate to say that!) online digitally but for some reason not Turning Japanese by the Vapors. Can anyone help me out here?
not sure it will help, but they have a myspace page.
The Vapors - "Turning Japanese"
I liked that song even better when I learned what the phrase "Turning Japanese" implies.:dull8ay: It's a bit obscure, but I bet some in this crowd have heard of it.
I didn't learn what it was referring to until I was about 19. Much like the Cake song "The Distance".
Impressed and a bit stunned that the first (and very prompt, I must say) response to the salacious nature of the aforementioned song comes from one of the few women on the board. Kudos, Angie! (you dirty bird):biggrin9gp:
What?! No Prince??
LOL - well, there goes my good name... :wink0st: Your post made me laugh, which is why I had responded so quickly (self-defense!!!).
Seriously, how good was your name anyway?
And, flat out, the best song out of the 80's, Michael Jackson with Billy Jean. (everyone please nod with agreement.)
PM me Silver, I just downloaded it for ya.
Wait that is illegal Bad Brian Bad Brian...just don't tell the RIAA.
