Pretty sure outside of injuries we are looking at a 20 or more win season and the tourney. The player I'm most impressed with now is Conditt. Have let go of all the jawing and posing and now seems focused on the task at hand. And I don't see Iowa shutting Brockington and Kalschear down like tonight. Looking at 12-0 going into the Baylor game. With Mizzou being bad that is running the non con. I was wrong about them being a bubble team and might have to raise my prediction to a single digit seed in the tourney.

Last I checked we were #14 when you filter on in season results for defensive efficiency

That is the issue currently. The computer ratings are still pulling in previous years results. It is actually causing the point spreads for our games to be significantly off as they tend to track with KenPom.

We are not going to see Kolar or Allen come play for the BB team.

Will we? Wait, maybe. This team is pretty inspiring. They could even inspire Kolar or Allen. I'd give it a 10% chance for this team as opposed to 0% chance for any other team or non-TJ team.

It would be pretty cool if Kolar or Allen would want to and TJ took them. Maybe it would help their potential NFL careers, blocking out, rebounding, etc.?

Would also be a National story. I won't lose any sleep over it. Fun to think about.
I don't know if Chase Allen is a basketball player, but he definitely has the size and length and hands to defend and rebound which is all we would need him to do.

Best Iowa and I'll start to think this is a tournament team.

Until then. No expectations and enjoying the ride

They lose to Iowa and beat Mizzou that's 12-1 in the non con. An 8-10 conference record gets them 20-11. Outside of injuries I don't see this team losing 10 games in the conference. So that is over 20 wins not including anything in the conference tourney.

Loved the look in to McD huddle in the first half talking about playing through the contact. Were like 12 minutes into the game and we had 2 fouls.

Wish we had one more big man to get through Big 12. Hopefully King gets a waiver.

Maybe a football player can join the team? Chase Allen?

That would be nice, but our perimeter defense has been so strong and our help so effective that teams haven't been able to make us pay when we've had to play small.

Way up there
We were down 6 with 2 minutes to go in the first half and i leaned over to my wife and said, "i don't care if we win, i just love hard these guys play. Whatever happens the rest of the year, this group will be one of my all time Cyclone favorites. It's at easy to root for guys who play this hard.

I keep thinking we're gonna fall at the next big hurdle and we keep jumping them. I like this

Right now, assuming Memphis, Xavier, and Creighton don't totally crumble we have a non con resume that gives us a very real chance at the tournament. Beat Iowa and that's just another tick in our favor. Feels like if those 3-4 stay good wins and we go 9-9 in conference we're in. That's of course, assuming we don't lose multiple buy games or somehow find the permutation that would give us no good wins and multiple bad losses to get to a 9-9.

Overall, I don't know what I think. I'm just very happy right now. Still probably won't be comfortable until late January or so if we're still rolling but this is fun right now

Went to the game. ISU frustrated the hell out of Creighton all night. Did not allow CU’s offense the establish any type of rhythm. Creighton matched ISU’s defensive intensity in the first half, but not in the second half. Very satisfying to see an ISU team this way as historically they have relied on their offense to win games. This team is totally different that what we have seen in the past, in a good way. Other teams are going to absolutely hate playing ISU this year as it’s very hard to establish any type of flow.

This team should be able to grind out 3 or more conference road wins then it's up to Hilton to bring the magic.
