They are salty about this over on Texags. Wow. Can't really blame them I suppose
Seems a little odd that they know 11 days from now they won't have enough players. Unless they just don't have enough players right now to run a practiceThey are salty about this over on Texags. Wow. Can't really blame them I suppose
On their message board they've got a thread that says between injuries, opt outs and COVID, they're missing 42 scholarship players. If that's the case, backing out of the bowl may at least somewhat about not getting embarrassed on national tv.Seems a little odd that they know 11 days from now they won't have enough players. OK that would do it.On their message board they've got a thread that says between injuries, opt outs and COVID, they're missing 42 scholarship players.

Looks like Illinois would be up for playing:
It would be interesting if you gave players truth serum and ask them if they REALLY would want to come back from their Holiday Break to practice & play in a game after they have been off for several weeks and are now home (many being very far away from campus) with their family. Bet there would be quite a few who wouldn't want to play. Why the hell would you decline? That's just being lazy

I think a lot of would also depend if you are in a program that has been in bowls lately or not as well. I think Illinois players probably would want to play. Texas or say TCU players who had a bad season based on expectations I'm guessing it would be the opposite.Just speaking for myself back in the day - HELL YES I would have. I couldn't stand to be back at home more than 2 days when I was in college because I would get so bored there.
