You are probably right about other coaches treating it differently. But knowing how things go down in Lawrence they would "T'd" up the ISU coach for throwing a tantrum during the KU's offensive "possession".....and that would have been 2 free throws and the ball for KU.

I just remember going nuts when it happened as I was screaming at the TV it was a 2 shot foul before they ever realized what happened. If that play happened at Hilton I guarantee you the court would have been littered with anything fans could throw and the refs would need an escort out of town.

So we got screwed but by gosh how many free throws, missed shots under the hoop and bad turnovers did we have? We literally threw the ball out of bounds 5 times that game with nobody close. Even the elbow foul would have not happen if we didn’t just lose the ball without much pressure. Make one more bunny, one less turnover and you win. Terrible calls but stop putting your self in that position. Happened in football too.

Really missed opportunity and now Texas is a must win imo
Correct, we make one more play we win. Like the good move to the bucket where we put it on the glass and it got goaltended. Really wish we would have executed that play within the rules and gotten the 2 points.

Officials need to be as good as you want the players the to be, or they are open to ridicule as well.

I have to say, I respect a coach’s ability to not lose their ever-lovin’ mind. I’m going bananas in my living room on those missed calls and somehow they can keep their composure. I’m not sure I’ll ever understand how they are able to avoid going Fran all the time.

Lives would have been lost if that happened to a Fran team.

How can 3 refs miss a call like the goal tending, you could see the ball was on its down arc, even if they could not see that it had already hit the backboard.
Anytime a player looks like he "lifted the ball" when he blocks it, it's almost always a goal tending and that is exactly what it looked like. The KU players hand was on the side to the bottom of the ball, not on the top, like when a shot is normally blocked.

And if I remember correctly, that same game one of their players towards the end hit a shot that was ruled a 3......went to replay where it showed his foot OVER the line......and they let it stand as a 3.

There were more than two. Two dreadful charges called on KU in the first half among them.

Refs suck in every sport at every level. I agree that the goaltending call was a big miss. Would have changed what KU had to do down the stretch. The flagrant was the right call. It was the textbook definitely idiot of what a flagrant foul is. I dont like that definition but it was correct according to it.
Just go away Tuco. You always equivocate with some random crap that happened in the first half. That flagrant call was absolutely imaginary. Jones didn’t even raise his elbow at all. That was two points gifted to Kansas. Then the goal tend. Btw, those charges were correct calls so even your equivocation is stupid tonight. You are such a jackass. Kansas did not deserve to win that game and it was handed to them again. And it’s not just against Iowa State. I guess it’s fitting that everyone else in the conference has piss pounded your football team for the last 12 years. It’s some consolation.

I forgot to ask, when does Kansas’ postseason ban start for all of Self’s rampant cheating? Covid and the NIL lawsuit are the only things that have prevented multi-year penalties. Bill Self runs a filthy program.

What was the original call … I dont think they ever said.
There were 2 officials looking right at it and neither raised their arms. I thought it looked like a missed call, but on review I could see how they could call it a 2.

KU some of the best players money can buy. When they get caught, they lawyer up and nothing happens to them.

Nope. I just reviewed those. Good calls. Anything else? Or are you hanging your hat on that?

Huh? He elbowed him in the face away from the ball. That is the definition itinerary of a flagrant in today's game. Intent is not part of the call any more.
Go watch the replay with Jones. He did not elbow him in the face. Jones pivoted to make a play on a loose ball and JCL collided with him. If that’s a flagrant foul then there would be a flagrant foul called on every box out and every screen. That was a fail by a really incompetent officiating crew.

To be fair, the refs weren’t incompetent. They performed their assigned task perfectly. Too bad their assigned task wasn’t to impartially officiate a basketball game.

I never saw a definitive angle that Grill’s toe was absolutely, positively on the line during his 3 point attempt, but that didn’t stop the officials from declaring it a 2.
They wanted it to be on the line therefore it was. So let it be written. So let it be done. The Big 12 refs have spoken (on behalf of KU).

Jerry Pollard is the senior official that is dredged up and "conveniently" assigned to many of our games with KU, along with two less experienced officials. As soon as I saw him, I knew there would be a lot of calls (or no-calls) to overcome.

Watch is body language - nothing intentional about it. He was trying to catch his balance to change direction to get to the other end of the court. Not a foul.
