Officiating travesty in Lawrence

You are probably right about other coaches treating it differently. But knowing how things go down in Lawrence they would "T'd" up the ISU coach for throwing a tantrum during the KU's offensive "possession".....and that would have been 2 free throws and the ball for KU.

I just remember going nuts when it happened as I was screaming at the TV it was a 2 shot foul before they ever realized what happened. If that play happened at Hilton I guarantee you the court would have been littered with anything fans could throw and the refs would need an escort out of town.

So we got screwed but by gosh how many free throws, missed shots under the hoop and bad turnovers did we have? We literally threw the ball out of bounds 5 times that game with nobody close. Even the elbow foul would have not happen if we didn’t just lose the ball without much pressure. Make one more bunny, one less turnover and you win. Terrible calls but stop putting your self in that position. Happened in football too.

Correct, we make one more play we win. Like the good move to the bucket where we put it on the glass and it got goaltended. Really wish we would have executed that play within the rules and gotten the 2 points.

Officials need to be as good as you want the players the to be, or they are open to ridicule as well.

Yeah, there are some nuances to the call. In this case, they had to explain that he should have known he was there, therefore it was not within making a basketball move.

How can 3 refs miss a call like the goal tending, you could see the ball was on its down arc, even if they could not see that it had already hit the backboard.
Anytime a player looks like he "lifted the ball" when he blocks it, it's almost always a goal tending and that is exactly what it looked like. The KU players hand was on the side to the bottom of the ball, not on the top, like when a shot is normally blocked.

And if I remember correctly, that same game one of their players towards the end hit a shot that was ruled a 3......went to replay where it showed his foot OVER the line......and they let it stand as a 3.

Refs suck in every sport at every level. I agree that the goaltending call was a big miss. Would have changed what KU had to do down the stretch. The flagrant was the right call. It was the textbook definitely idiot of what a flagrant foul is. I dont like that definition but it was correct according to it.

Jerry Pollard is the senior official that is dredged up and "conveniently" assigned to many of our games with KU, along with two less experienced officials. As soon as I saw him, I knew there would be a lot of calls (or no-calls) to overcome.

Watch is body language - nothing intentional about it. He was trying to catch his balance to change direction to get to the other end of the court. Not a foul.
