So I guess I’d ask why do you think this happens? Large scale anti-Iowa State conspiracy? The pro-Tech league office at work again?
Good questions. Why did ISU the projected bottom team in the conference get to start against the teams expected to be at the top of the conference? Would getting the ‘good’ teams off to a hot start make better talking points?

I'm glad we're done with Tech. Bad match up for our guys. I hope we don't have to meet this team down in Kansas City.

2 -4 is fine, but this is going to get out of control if we can't get the free throw differential solved

just can't spot the other team 15 points on the road, which is what we are averaging

And eventually this is going to catch us at home, hell it already did, Baylor outscired us by 11 at the line in Ames, that's the difference in all the losses

Alright, I feel better now. This sucked balls but at least the schedule gets easier now. Beat TCU, WVU, KState, and OSU at home and find 2 more wins somewhere and we get 8 and probably a 6 seed or so in the tournament. That's the bare minimum.

Like I said though, I will be officially worried if we lose to TCU saturday and not worried but unhappy if we drop the @OSU game too.

With the limitations I'm not convinced TCU will be the breath of fresh air that it seemed two weeks ago.

I am an optimist. But agree...if we lose to TCU at home the thought of making the NCAAs will take a huge blow in my optimistic mind.

The plus side, to me, is forget their record. Yeah, they're 12-2 and 2-1. But both of their league wins they were extremely lucky to win by 3 at KSU and by 1 in OT vs OU at home. They are unquestionably the 'easiest' team we've played thus far in the league.

You also realize that fouls are allowed to be called outside the paint right? Just checking.
The number of tick tack fouls out of the blue were pretty minimal. They were certainly there, esp on Rob.

But majority of fouls were TTU saying hell or high water they were getting to the rim. Then there were several underneath after our guys uncharacteristically gave up rebounding position.

It was a **** game. It happens. TTU knew what they wanted to do and dictated.

I get that our offense isn’t great, but still I think Adams has a bit of the secret sauce to make our offense struggle. Extend and overplay passing lanes, switch early or hedge everything until the shot clock gets under 10. Then you flip that and they are still playing in your face but not denying.

I think TJ will figure out how to get some offense rolling earlier in the shot clock. Would also like to see some more chances in transition, even if numbers aren’t necessarily there. Last I’d like to see IB more active without the ball like he was vs Texas. Not only can he get some buckets as a cutter, it gets him some position for offensive boards.

Any game back at Hilton after a rough road game is a breath of fresh air! But yeah, the way this big 12 season has gone so far nothing is a gimme

You could see this letdown coming from a mile away, beating Texas at home on Saturday, and then going into TT on a late Tuesday start is just too much to overcome with such a limited offense as ISU has.

Through our first six games we have played Baylor, @kansas, @OU, @ TT, and home games with TT and Texas. Not sure the schedule can get any more difficult than that to start the year. Then throw in a new coach and an entirely new team and it's a miracle that we are, where we are record wise.

We will be fine, just have to regroup and get ready for a home game with TCU.

Yeah, foul discrepancy was bad, but just couldn't make shots. GC kept putting the ball down around his ankles. It snowballed as the bigs got fouls and TT started getting offensive rebounds.

It wasn't fun to watch, but it's a split with TT. It's behind us. Moving on.

I couldn't agree more about working earlier in the shot clock and forcing a bit more in transition. Need to find some ways to get an easy bucket more often.

Once tonight Grill caught it after a made bucket for Tech and just pushed the ball the entire way for a layup. That's not something that will be there often, but especially when teams are running a press you need to be able to attack it not only to get across half court, but to score. Can't just be content playing the other team's game and need to get more comfortable pushing the tempo IMO.
