The fact that we nearly blew a 2nd half 15 pt lead is 99% on TJ’s shoulders IMO, but I have to admit that was some of the worst officiating I’ve ever seen.

That last foul call on Gabe and that call giving KSU the ball on an “inadvertent whistle” were as bad as I’ve ever seen as far as trying to hand the game to the home team. Had we lost…. that would have been a travesty…. and likely another apology letter from the Big 12.

Great win guys!!
I’m extremely glad this “learning moment” for TJ is in a game that we won lol.

My big hope is he really prioritizes getting some stronger ball handlers in transfer season. I don't think they really ran anything great to beat the press today, but having Hunter be really the only guy who can semi-reliably dribble up the court make it a lot harder.

Didn’t sometime in the last few years they changed the rule so you can’t be flying out of bounds and call timeout? You must have real possession. If so, the only way KState could have possession at the end was due to the inadvertent whistle. God damn, that made that last minute plus even weirder. I’m still numb.

Tyrese on postgame:

“I feel like I’m one of the best point guards playing college basketball.”

Love it

Love the confidence…. but it’s not true.

Hopefully he realizes that and doesn’t try to turn pro after this season…. that wouldn’t be a good decision at all for him.

I just looked at the score chart. Did we really almost blow another 15 point second half lead against K-State? What the heck happened? I checked the score occasionally and the game was close every time I checked so I thought it was tight throughout.

I was watching when we got down early. Quit watching and turned on to see Grill drill the 30’ 3 pt to put us up two at half. Turned back on with 2.5 to see us up 4. Couldn’t watch as seeing Weber’s hair just kept making go “WTF is up with his hair?”
My son saw him and said: "Look, it's Colonel Sanders!"

He wasn’t great today just frankly people are pissed at him for 5 second calls that weren’t 5 seconds.
On the second one, the ref started counting as Gabe was reaching for the ball. Didn’t even have possession of it yet. But with that said, we had two timeouts that we should’ve used to not get the turnover and for TJ to draw something up for his guys.

It’s not so much the 5 second calls- it’s just his lack of awareness down the stretch. I don’t want to make the thread about him, but he’s going to cost us in March, just too inconsistent.

I really hope we get a ball handler with size. Point forward type guy. It felt so comfortable when you had Monte and Georges and didn’t have to worry about turning it over in stupid fashion.

Part of the on the inbound plays was that they would not throw the ball to the guy who initially got open. Then there was nobody open after that. Once a guy gets open, throw it to him.
At least one of them, Kunc broke completely wide open but the inbounder looked him off and then couldn't find a clean pass.
