Not sure what they use for attendance totals (all-session tickets, final session, whatever), but the 10,000-ish in KC in 2016 does not compare favorably to the 17-19,000 in Tulsa in the non-Covid years.
With the Clones being a considerably better team now and Missouri back in the league, there would be a better showing when it returns to KC.
Interesting that we have never had a conference tournament champion at 125 or 149. Now’s the time!

Ankeny, IA.
I agree with most of everyone’s projections.

I’m a little higher on Bastida than most appear to be though. I think he could win it (can his endurance keep up over matches that close together would be my question)

I think Des Moines would be great, and draw a large crowd. I was thinking more centrally located to maximize the amount of fans from that would show up. You would still get the Oklahoma crowds, and now that Missouri is back they would also travel. A lot easier for the Uni and State fans to go to KC than Tulsa. I also live in KC so I am being selfish.
I agree w THIS

2016 was the first year with 10 teams, and was before UNI joined. The attendance listed is the total for the whole tournament (all 4 sessions).

Can anyone explain these brackets to me? Why, for example, do some 1 seeds not get bye’s , while 5 and 6 seeds do? Or am I just not looking at them correctly?

Discussed in greater detail earlier in the thread. Pigtail matches (first round) are supposedly blindly drawn. That way the team race is more fair. You really want your top guys to get those matches when you can so they can get majors and pins and score more team points. Like it’s good David didn’t get a bye even though he’s a one seed because he’ll probably pin his guy and score more for us.

Not exactly sure.

So basically 3-4K per session? I believe there are a few options in Des Moines that hold that. This sounds stupid, but with Mizzou leaving, I’m personally not ready for anything to be in that state to be added. Make Kansas or Kstate add a team to get it in KC on the Kansas side.
