Is Weber out a KSU?

I don't know about all of social media, but I would certainly hope recruits and players don't look at CF when the team is struggling. This place is a cesspool when their is a loss. I wouldn't be surprised if Twitter and other social media outlets are just as bad. I don't think it's an ISU fan thing either, it's a societal thing.

I've looked at the CF twitter page (good stuff at times) and I can confirm that tweeters are just as bad.

It would be confusing to see the Hilton crowd erupt in cheers when you're on the floor but knowing someone out there is hating you publicly for the same thing.

Tang looks the part but a huge gamble.
No less of a gamble than your present coach, your past coach, or any of the shiny bright objects out there today, e.g. English, Jans, McCasland, etc. It's a crapshoot in many ways, isn't it?

That's why low-risk Weber was hired to settle the waters after Frank Martin. But I never thought he'd be a home run like, for example, I expected of Prohm or 'the mayor' at N. Frankly, Bruce surprised me and most others with the successes he enjoyed.

Based on what? Head coaching experience/success?
Jerome Tang is Baylor's lead recruiter. He's been in the B12 a long time. He understands the league and what's required to compete. He's a minority. There are lots of obvious traits that are attractive about him.

Otz knows ISU. He was successful with a generational player at Brookings. Not so much at UNLV. His turnaround first year in Ames was special. I'd take my chances with Tang today given a choice between them going forward, every time.

By the way, the odds of K-State hiring Tang are low for multiple reasons.

Other than no head coaching experience, what are the 'multiple reasons'?

Or in other words, in our lifetimes, they have had equal success.

I don't think those comparisons in real life matter as much as they do for us fans.
You/KState have more E8's F4's than Texas. Texas is a better job.

I'm sure Mizzou fans think their job is better and I'm sure KState think their job is better.

Tang will be in high demand by other programs. He may not want to coach in the B12 against Baylor. K-State may have other coaches in mind. There are a lot of variables.
OK, you've mentioned only one variable so far that K-State can't control-- Tang may not want to coach in the Big12. What else?

I said nothing about K-State controlling anything. I said the likelihood of him being K-State's next coach is low because there are so many variables. I hope he's our next coach.

Actually, I believe the two jobs are fairly equal gigs. Maryland and Louisville are better openings than both. UGA worse.

Past 20-years
Missouri 358-288 55%; 0 conference c'ships; 3 top 25 finishes; 7 NCAA appearances
K-State 381-269 60%; 2 conference c'ships, 4 top 25 finishes; 9 NCAA appearances
So pretty equal. Who has more fans? Who has more money? Who has better facilities? Who's able to recruit easier?

But you keep comparing based upon the NCAA Tournament. KState isn't a better job than Texas.
If Uconn opened today, it's not a better job than Maryland.

So many variables....
Is the main variable that K-State AD just doesn't want to hire your dream guy because he has no head coaching experience?
