Xavier, Georgetown, Creighton and Marquette are Jesuit.
Villanova is Augustinian.
Providence is Dominican.
Seton Hall is Diocesan.
St. John’s is Vincentian.
Butler is Non-sectaria.
UConn is the only public school in the group.

First 8 are Catholic schools.
St Peter’s is Jesuit too!

Murray Ky reminds me a bit of Hill Valley, the fictional town from back to the future. A slower pace of life around those parts.

Perfect outcome for Murray, Prohm, ISU. Always liked the guy, but the team chemistry seemed weak (same problem w/ McDoormat) . Does ISU still pay his full remaining contract? Or is there an offset?

First step for him is to keep McMahon's recruits especially with a reported 7 guys graduating. 6'5 6'6 6'6 guards and a 6'9 post coming next year. That's outstanding size.

Otherwise, if he doesn't put together a good squad next year, momentum will be real hard to build as he'd be on a three season streak and would have lost one thing that Murray has had for such a long time which is continuity.
In a very random unimportant thought....I wonder if for example Tre Jackson or Jaden Walker happen to transfer, would he reach out? (He should try to get Xavier Foster.....I'm kinda kidding, I think)
But glad he got the job and good luck to him.

Non of those you named that might transfer are far fetched. The Foster's really like Steve, and if the other two are thinking of transferring I bet they might give him a call.

You forgot DePaul, which is also Vincentian Catholic like St. John's. But everybody forgets DePaul.

Kenpom refers to conferences in three tiers:

Power 6 - Big 12, B1G, ACC, SEC, Pac-12, Big East
At-Large Quality - American, MVC, WCC, A-10, Mtn West
Mid-Major - everyone else

“At-Large Quality” means the league is good enough to produce an at large tournament team, even if it doesn’t do so every year. I would put the MVC at the bottom of that ALQ tier, but still a decent cut above all the mid-major leagues.
I think your statement is pretty fair.

The A10 was a one bid league last year and would have been this year had Davidson beaten Richmond (thank goodness they didn't). The Mountain West was a 1 bid league from 2017-19.

It's all cyclical at this level.
This probably wouldn't be a great thing for ISU long term, but I'd have zero problem as a college basketball fan if they let good mid majors in over the mediocre P6 schools. I'd inevitably be very upset if that meant it takes ISU out of it like it likely would've this year, but moving forward I think TJ keeps us in the top half of the Big 12 with no problems getting in the tourney most years
