What?!? I have no memory of this happening haha
This was before the bowl game that year? Or something Gameday did when he was in Heisman contention?
I think it was right before the OU game with the Heisman hype. And then the wheels came off.

Who cares what the stats say…. this year was a big failure in terms of expectations…. that’s not even debatable.

And despite some of our offensive stats…. our offense was absolutely inept way too often this season.

Go ahead and rip away, but this team underperformed big time.

Want some good, positive news? This year’s team is going to surpass expectations and finish with a better record than last year’s team.

Who cares what the stats say? How about who cares what you say.

Was our offense outstanding? No, but it ranked 18th in the nation in average yards per play. That's not "absolutely inept". Good Lord, get a grip.

Perhaps the problem was with our “expectations” then, rather than the team being “underachieving”.

To be both fair and honest, none of us really knew going in just how beaten up the offensive line actually was. Or that Mike Rose was going to get hurt down the stretch.

So how many all conference and CPOY did that team have returning?

Yeahhhhhh……. our offense ranked 18th in avg yds per play!!!! Do we win some kind of award for that??

Had I posted before last season started that I predicted 7 wins….. I would have been destroyed on here for being so negative.

But now we’re supposed to be thrilled with that?? I give up.

I guess to be a “true fan”…. you have to be happy with however ISU does no matter what and never be critical, huh? Am I doing it right now?

You do 2+2=10,487 an awful lot, don’t you?

To clarify my statement, it’s a fundamental truth of football that teams are built around their OL. Just like “defense wins championships”. Well, you can’t get to the championship in the first place with a crippled OL.

Agree, it's a moral victory stat. Not sure why anyone would post it.

Nobody said you have to be happy pal. But giving context I think is helpful for the big picture. You can believe what you’d like.

So do you see this as a positive?
That Iowa State was top 25 in the country in both offense and defense in a stat and only Alabama, Georgia and Michigan also were. Yes I think that’s good company. Clearly this doesn’t take into account special teams and turnovers and field position, all areas Iowa State was average or worse. But I think it’s notable still.

Nobody said it was a victory or a loss. You’re not supposed to be thrilled or happy about it. It’s simply a curious little fact. And was posted as such, no value added.

Not sure how someone doesn’t get that. You or Clonedude.
