Oregon and Washington are not realistic. They will be eating at the big table.
I thought so too initially, but reading their fan forums, they seem more depressed and worried than we did last summer during the last round.Oregon and Washington are not realistic. They will be eating at the big table.
Create a 22 team conference by taking the rest of the Pac 12. Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Arizona State, Oregon State, Wash State
East: West Virginia, UCF, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Okie State, TCU, Baylor, Houston, Cincy, TTech
West: BYU, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State, Oregon State
Not unless they disinfect it firstI would love to have opp to travel to Bay Area
Why wouldn't the BIG have added Stanford, Cal, Oregon and Washington with this move if that is the direction they were trending? It is all about dollars. From an economic perspective the addition of those schools clearly do not make a positive impact on a Big Ten per school basis in terms of money. The only university left I think the Big Ten would add under the current landscape is Notre Dame.I find it difficult to believe the B10 is going to leave USC and UCLA on an island. Gotta believe Stanford, Cal, Oregon and Washington are in the mix
Also, I think Stanford and Cal were against BYU because they were a religious institution so I don't see them joining but who knows.Oregon and Washington are easily the "best" for the Big 12, but they aren't happening.
After those two, you take whoever you can get from the rest of the list.
If we take PAC12 teams, I don’t want it to be that many. Look out for ourselves. If we take 4-6, the R8 still has what seems as an upper hand with conference standing. You basically shove two together and you have the PAC 10, r8 and the newbies. Kinda no longer the old establishment guys.Create a 22 team conference by taking the rest of the Pac 12. Optics. If the big ten grabbed 4-6, well it could be looked at as Fox interfeted. By doing 2, on the last day that teams can announce. It kills the PAC12 and panics the others to reach out to the big 10 and make the contact themselves. Throws the whole thing in turmoil. Why wouldn't the BIG have added Stanford, Cal, Oregon and Washington with this move if that is the direction they were trending? It is all about dollars. Strength in numbers. Come on down Oregon Stage and Wazzu you have a home here!If we take PAC12 teams, I don’t want it to be that many. Look out for ourselves. I'm not buying that whatsoever. This shift is expected to take place in 2024. If the Big Ten wanted all six teams it'd be done by now.Optics. They are negotiating TV money right now. You take the whole herd and it looks like under the table stuff (which is, but you try to not have it look as obvious). What is the value of the PAC12 without those two teams. Now let’s throw in two more and the conference is hosed.I'm not buying that whatsoever. This shift is expected to take place in 2024.
