I would vote to bring in all remaining members sans Oregon St and Washington St., then try to get the best two members that you can from the ACC.

It would be great if the Big XII could lose the three teams east of the Mississippi and become a power West conference with the remains of the Pac 12.

Create a 22 team conference by taking the rest of the Pac 12. Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Arizona State, Oregon State, Wash State

East: West Virginia, UCF, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Okie State, TCU, Baylor, Houston, Cincy, TTech

West: BYU, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Cal, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State, Oregon State

Those are the best because Oregon/Wash are definitely leaving with the LA schools and 50/50 shot the bay area schools do too.

Those four are also the best geographic fit that is going to matter more for the Group of 2 than it will for the Power 2.

Thinking about something that is going to survive long term after Big Ten and SEC do whatever jerking off they are going to do and raid the ACC in a few years to finish this game of picking teams on the school playground.

Of course if the dust settles and somehow Cal and Stanford want to be in the Big 12 you add those teams...I just think there's a very good chance they are gone with the obvious 4.

There's a chance Stanford just backs away from pro sports.

In the 5% chance the Big Ten only adds two right now...you do this and brace for further defections knowing you still have a big strong conference and at some point the ACC is the only target.

Oregon and Washington are easily the "best" for the Big 12, but they aren't happening.

After those two, you take whoever you can get from the rest of the list.

I find it difficult to believe the B10 is going to leave USC and UCLA on an island. Gotta believe Stanford, Cal, Oregon and Washington are in the mix
Why wouldn't the BIG have added Stanford, Cal, Oregon and Washington with this move if that is the direction they were trending? It is all about dollars. From an economic perspective the addition of those schools clearly do not make a positive impact on a Big Ten per school basis in terms of money. The only university left I think the Big Ten would add under the current landscape is Notre Dame.

Also, I think Stanford and Cal were against BYU because they were a religious institution so I don't see them joining but who knows.

If we take PAC12 teams, I don’t want it to be that many. Look out for ourselves. If we take 4-6, the R8 still has what seems as an upper hand with conference standing. You basically shove two together and you have the PAC 10, r8 and the newbies. Kinda no longer the old establishment guys.

Optics. If the big ten grabbed 4-6, well it could be looked at as Fox interfeted. By doing 2, on the last day that teams can announce. It kills the PAC12 and panics the others to reach out to the big 10 and make the contact themselves. Throws the whole thing in turmoil.

While Oregon and Washington would be the best available, it certainly doesn't calm things down. They'd be constantly discussed about joining another conference. The stability of the other 4 is better in the long run.

I'm not buying that whatsoever. This shift is expected to take place in 2024. If the Big Ten wanted all six teams it'd be done by now.

They are negotiating TV money right now. You take the whole herd and it looks like under the table stuff (which is, but you try to not have it look as obvious). What is the value of the PAC12 without those two teams. Now let’s throw in two more and the conference is hosed.

I thought so too initially, but reading their fan forums, they seem more depressed and worried than we did last summer during the last round.

They are novices at this and probably always assumed they were safely tucked away and stable...it's their in state rivals who should be completely $hitting bricks even more than we ever were.

Oregon State and Washington State are in the worst situation ISU and KSU were in if we had no other major conference schools within 800-1200 miles.

If Big Ten takes 6 their only options are hoping the Big 12 feeling charitable or Mountain West. If it was all about Larry Scott I'd feel some joy in telling them to pound sand, but knowing Ore St and Washington St are effectively ISU/KSU I hope they get a good outcome.

The absolute worst case scenario for Oregon/Washington is an 8-10 team Pac 12, or new Big 12. Zero chance they are left out of the second tier. I feel either of those are far fetched compared to being in Big Ten with LA schools.
